This may sound dumb, but has anyone ever tried to do a petition or something to show GW how many people want Sisters?

There have been a few, the last one I remember is about a year ago (2? 3?) people would all order sisters from the GW site on the same date and time. Not sure how well it did.

I think for GW the Celestine release is the real test, asking people to put their money where their mouths are.

Although in that case it sold loads and loads, but was boxed with other characters.

Yeah I noticed that you can't get the triplets on their own, which has to bias the whole thing.

Well, considering those three are probably the set that combines widespread appeal with good looking models, I'd say it still probably otusold the others. The primarch triple set looks like garbage even if they are space marines, and ynnari looks nice but way more imperium players than eldar players overall, at least I think.

Who am I kidding though, guilliman and his tag alongs probably did end up outselling them, just cause space marine and primarch. Even if it is one of the worst looking models GW has produced in quite a while it'd move.

The old answer was that the molds weren't good enough to do the detail on them properly. I think there was mention of the hair being an issue? Presumably this isn't an issue currently though, even though the SoS are mostly bald in what is probably just a weird coincidence.

Now the issue is speculatively that sisters have been mediocre sellers for such a long time that they haven't been interested in redoing the line, considering it wasted resources.

Robes & hair - how to make them look dynamic without being silly, defying gravity or going in different directions. The robes on the Skitarii are OK, but they're essentially mono-pose models - you can't mix different legs & torsos, and there's very little wiggle room with the weapons.

I always thought the robes/hair excuse was just that, an excuse. If GW had wanted to they could have simply modified the Sister's design to work better in plastic. At this point I doubt there's any issue at all.

I'm sure it's lingering doubts whether an all girl army.would sell.

Or any girls.

Several factions have been introduced in recent years and outside of Elves/Dark Elves I can't remember any women.

OK there's like one female storm cast, but that's not much at all.

Vigo. Spain.

"Why we need another female army"
But we can have 10 male armies... Ok.
I like SoS. Pariahs have normally Pariahs sons. The SoS of now are the descendants of the ones of 30k. But I think they should be a combined army with Custodes
They suffer even greatly from the GK problem.
A SoS army is just worse SoB against armies with 1-2 psykers or no psyker At all.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

It is just so damn weird. Where the damn Hell was the market for plastic SoS?

And yes Jake. 1,800+ I believe.

So the recent Rise of the Primarch - many of the central characters were women - St C, Inquisitor Greyfax and the Eldar prohet of the Yanari - none of them sold badly - quite the opposite -make good models with good rules and shock horror they sell! Of coruse that does distract from Marines, Marines Marines.....

They are represented in the fluff - there are even Knights with female pilots in the GW books and not just BL.

Other companies do very well with them.

There is no reason not to do it !

The leader of the Maynarkh Dynasty is canonically a woman, doubt she'll ever get a model/rules though.

The last two Digital Monday audio books from Black Library (Signal to Noise and Soul Fuel) appear to be focused on the SoB. Now, I haven't listened to them (yet) and they may be terrible, but to be prominently marketed on the warhammer-community and Black Library pages is suggestive that GW is entertaining some investment in the line ... Or at least isn't immediately planning on Squating them.

There was a rumor that the SoB codex was going to drop in September (BoLS I think is where I saw it). And maybe that rumor image that looked like a Simulacrum really is a Simulacrum?

But anyway, back to the original post, as a new player and huge fan of the SoB I'd be disappointed if they copy / pasted SoS with different hair to make new Battle Sisters. I mean, I'd probably still buy them because holy crap the cost of current sisters is prohibitive, but, you know, I'd cry a little bit on the inside when the rest of me wasn't looking.

They've made a push towards unisex options lately though. Mechanicus models are all pretty much whatever gender you decide they are, though N/A is probably the closest towards canon. Except for the electro priests, but realistically that'd have the issue of another unit of women in fetish gear. Tau have similarly been established as "you won't be able to tell unless the helmet is off and even then probably won't notice", harlequins were similarly difficult to tell, with some models looking male/female depending on just how puffy that jacket is.

Even GSC has this to a degree. Not even talking about the later generations, look at some of the miner neophyte models and cover up the heads. With closed helms quite a few of the bodies look distinctly androgynous or feminine (though it could just be because half of them look they have corsets on). The one with the power maul in the fourth picture for example.

SilverAlien, I see your point. But personally I'd rather have models that are specifically and obviously female (although more unisex models are fine too of course). Looking at the Mechaicus and Tau models I don't get the impression that they were designed to be unisex
