Crazy idea; tempestus scions heavy weapon squads.
Sometimes the best weapon for a given situation is a heavy one. And there's definitely a history of heavy weapons having parachute versions in real warfare.
Would I bet on GW doing this? Not at all.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better. |

Well, betting on what GW would do is quite easy. Is it a new vehicle able to basically fulfill roles we've already got covered? Probably. Is it something people have been wanting for at least a decade (e.g. plastic guardsmen of other regiments)? Probably not.

I imagine Leman Russ will get a 10-20 point reduction. None of them are especially good as far as I can see. The predator got a reduction so there is a reasonable precedent.
Plasma guns will likely be pushed up a bit. I'd expect to at least 10 points. Maybe 13.
Chimera are clearly struggling against Taurox so they might do something there. Not sure a cost reduction is the answer though. Too cheap and it will be a very efficient bullet sponge. I could see maybe 10 points to see, although I am not sure that would make the difference.
Everything else will probably be left for a little while.

Chimera would be fine if they made the multilaser cost 0 points or make it rapid fire weapon. That would give it a good bang for its buck

At that point I'll just retire my Cadians permanently. Their primary function to me is their inclusion of HWTs.
If I can get a BS3+ lascannons isntead. . . .yes please!

Making multilasers rapid fire is a really good idea on how to make them worth taking.

Yeah, how about Rapid Fire 3? Although now that I've done some mathhammer I'm not so sure.
Right now:
Multilaser is 36", heavy 3, S6, AP0 D1. It costs 10 pts.
Stormbolter is 24", rapidfire 2, S4, Ap0, D1. It costs 2 pts.
Rapidfire 3 Multilaser against MEQ at 24": 1 wound
stormbolter against MEQ at 24": .5 wounds. Scale that up to 5 stormbolters because that's how many you can get for a multilaser, and its 2.5 wounds.
I'm not sure its worth 10 points, but the extra range is nice.
Against GEQ:
1 multilaser gets you 1.25 wounds, 5 stormbolters get you 3.3 wounds. eh. I 'd still rather have five stormbolters (which would look hilarious), I think Multilaser would still cost too much. an extra 12" range isn't worth it to me.

The multilaser is so expensive and garbage that I'm trying to find the safest way to replace them with lascannons on my Valks. I run predator turrets with autocannons on my chimeras though, so I've just been playing them as Storm Chimeras from IA. FNP at S4 and under weaponry on a troop transport is not to be underestimated!
My wishlist for the codex:
1. Doctrines/customization options for veterans again.
2. Actually useful vehicle upgrades.
3. Battle Tanks either dropping in price or something done with the weaponry to make it useful. Especially the Exterminator. The Predator Autocannon got beefed up and ours is OG and now garbage.
4. Something similar to Chapter Tactics for the different regiments would be really cool and fluffy. We're going to need something, have you seen the Salamander or Raven Guard tactics? Not looking forward to facing them!
5. I'm sure this is coming, but I'd like to see a more fleshed out armory for characters. I have so many old school commanders modeled with storm bolters from back in the day. Would love to see them viable again.
6. I'd be totally fine with plasma going up, but I had better see the grenade launcher and flamer go down or something. Flamers in this edition are garbage unless you can find ways to amass them.
7. Something has to be done with the Chimera to make it viable. Sure, it is a great transport. But in all my games of 8th so far, I have needed almost 0 transports due to Scions, Ratlings, Celestine, Rough Riders, or using orders on guardsmen to cap OBJs.
