Blasts from the past. Terran Trade Authority

Oct 26, 2017 ยท Brent Dietrich

Anyone who grew up in the 70's/80's will remember these. I'm going to do a series of these ships and they will be available on the Shapeways shop. Too delicate for casting.

Looks like they're already available on Shapeways.

If you're not familiar with it, the Terran Trade Authority was one of those 'slam a bunch of sci fi art together and make up a story around it' books common in the 70s and 80s. Lots of brightly colored airbrushed art of cool space ships, alien worlds and creatures.

I think this may be the saucer shaped ship from the preview.

(these two are from Star Quest, a book I've had since the 70s, if he makes these I will buy them SOOOO fast my wallet may burst into flame)

Well, you beat me to my own post!

Growing up in the 1970's, the TTA books with art by Angus MkGee and Chris Foss were big influences on me. Now that Wave I and II are out, I've started work on recreating some of my favorite designs from the TTA series, as well as some more unique designs based off of of early terran exploration in the books.

All the designs will go up on Shapeways first, since casting these will require a bigger investment in both Resin and metal production molding. In X-Wing scale these will be on the bigger side, about the footprint of the Imperial Shuttle. I'll also be doing specific decals for these, especially the Terran models as they have a lot of unique markings and decals.

If there is enough interest, I'll also get stat cards made for 51/50 that will have enough information for weapons and crew that it will be easy to use them in other rules.
