40k relies too heavy on exploiting over the top special rules as the path to victory to be considered a serious strategic wargame. It is good to see that people who have not drank the koolaide outnumber those who have 2:1.

Paradigm for a happy relationship with Games Workshop: Burn the books and take the models to a different game. |

Other.
It's an excuse to get your models out of your display case - sadly some of the rules are a bit garbage so it's not a very good excuse but it is improving.

I don't break the rules but I'll bend them as far as they'll go. |

The OP asks for your opinion on the game if it were done right, not how it is now or has been in any specific iteration.

For a board game it's towards the more rules heavy end of the spectrum, though this edition might be more mid range I suppose.
Yes, this is it. Thanks for reading charitably.

40k is not a serious strategy wargame. GW will be and has been the first to tell people this.
It's a framework for people to play with their plastic army men in great, expressive detail.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.
New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts. |
