Wil Wheaton posted about playing 40k on his blog back in August. In fact, I just read this post for the first time yesterday, and halfway through, he quoted an Amazon review. I was reading it thinking it sounded oddly familiar, and then I realized that he was actually quoting my Amazon review in his blog post. That was kind of a surreal feeling.

That blog post is here:

Robin Williams was a big time toy nerd. He used to go to the fancy toy shops in San Francisco, I think it was Kid Robot or Double Punch. Either way the workers got pictures with Robin in the store wearing some ridiculous Hawaiian shirt & Air Jordan's. There was even a photo of Robin on a skateboard, longboard IIRC.

He was a regular at the stores. RIP funny man.

Robin Williams was awesome. Playing a game with him would be the pinnacle of gaming imho. If the goal is to have fun, he would be the most fun dude to do just about anything with

This is amazing. What a once in a lifetime experience.

Makes me miss Robin Williams even more...

All I can add is that Robin Williams is definitely confirmed, a guy I knew back in maybe 2005 was doing some commission work for him.

I did spot some Warhammer/White Dwarf stuff in one of Will Smith's movies, so I guess that's some kind of decent link if people are suggesting him.

No offense but how can a "confirmed collector" have an unknown army? If you can confirm they collect then you have to know what they collect.

Chris Kluwe, for example, has mentioned that he plays but never mentioned his army.

NIds, confirmed on local radio station 93x when he used to play for the MN Viqueens.

Chris Kluwe used to keep some of his tyranid models in a case in the Eden Prairie Center air traffic before it stopped carrying 40k. I met him there once. He was a pretty cool dude.

He sure does, but with real people instead of miniatures. Thank god we don't have xenos and demons invading yet

I don't know what army Ansel Elgort plays, but he's placed/won a Golden Demon for a Space Wolf bust.

Robin Williams and Billy Crystal had armies.

The character of Cyrill in Archer mentioned playing Warhammer.

Robin Williams also played rpgs.

His two favourites were Cyberpunk (Talsorian - hometown SF people before they moved up to PacNorWest) and Paranoia.

He used to drop into a little game store in SF where some friends of mine played (they were the "back room" crowd).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

Actually met Brian at Games Day... I want to say 97? We were in the studio bit right at the end of the day, my buddy actually had chance to speak to him directly and shake his hand, but he understandably wanted to keep moving to avoid getting bogged down, so all I got was a smile and a nod. He was there for his son, so I'm not 100% he plays himself.

I went to school with his son Jimmy. I didn't really know him; but Warhammer, Space Hulk and the like were fairly common interests at our school so I could easily believe it.

Peter Jackson has an interest in wargaming. Though i'm unsure if he plays 40k. I do know (and this common knowledge) that the Perry brothers gave him sculpting lessons and sculpted some 40mm Boer war figures especially for him as well as doing work on the Galiopli diorama.

The Perrys also worked with Ian Hislop on a documentary about the seige of Mafeking, which they produced a diroma for. I have met him when re enacting and he has a big interest in history but i'm unsure if he wargames.

Oh man, the first monster I see I'm going to sneak up behind him, whip out my wand, and shoot my magic all over his ass.

I met the author Jim Butcher (Most notably the author of the Dresden files) last night at a book signing, and he said that though he doesn't play 40k much, his army of choice was orks. That made my day.

He also said, somewhat derisively, his son plays tau. I (jokingly) told him he raised his boy wrong.

"Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment." Words to live by.
