It's chewed to death joke da were always chaos side. Was better when it wasn't clear but even now it's been proven without shadow of doubt they were loyals it still doesn't die from boring people

It's not so bad. Compared to Ultramarine smurf-jokes and Guilliman-spelling variants some people apparently think are funny, it barely comes up.There're probably less Chaos-DA "jokes" on the internet in a year than there are "clever" Girlyman-variants being posted in a day. Or just asked a Tau player about the last time they managed to play a game without a lazy communist joke of fish pun being dragged out for the umpteenth time.

Original humor isn't the strong suit of the 40K crowd.

Yeah those aren't particularly interesting ones either. I generally ignore any comments by anybody making those as not worth the time it takes to even skim through the post.

With DA at least it USED to be plausible when HH wasn't covered in such details but now we KNOW where their loyalties lie so it would be time to let that one rest in peace.

The BA codex might have some interesting fluff about successor chapters and the future of the BA.
"The Devastation of Baal" book is coming out soon mapping the near destruction of the chapter (and most successor chapters), perhaps there is big fluff change ahead for 8th edition BA.

I wouldn't bank on it. I was excited to see what direction they would go with Biel Tan after the fracture but there was really nothing done in the codex.

I can't see huge fluff changes for existing armies like BAs or even successors like Lamenters that will translate to big army list changes or model selection on the tabletop. With the Primaris marines' release they seem to be very careful about not invalidating people's existing armies with these current releases - because they know how well that sort of thing goes down with the community.

For example, the whole "DA go to Chaos and Alpha Legion go Loyalist" thing that was being thrown around a few months ago was just so unrealistically out there that it was clearly never going to happen.
