You also have Khan and Mortarian.

However, Khan was more known for his incredible skill with his blade and speed, i guess similar to Fulgrim in that sense.

Mortarian is interesting though, due to his bulk and resilience would allow him to weather countless blows and just continue to fight.

Other options are Corax, Magnus, Lorgar, Alpharius, Dorn, BobbyG. All need mentioning, even if just to quickly dismiss them.

I think all of them except Mortarion can be quickly dismissed.

Unless Alpharius/Omegon get to go in as a team.

Eye of Terror

Horus would win against any other Primarch.

Sure, they other guys are tough, but Horus is a thinker and strategist. He would figure out how to use their brawn against them.

Like a Brazillian Ju Jitsu specialist takes down someone trained in Tae Kwon Do. It would end with lots of broken bones.

Horus may be a good general thinker, but there really isn't much indication that he's spent nearly as much time training his mind or body for combat like several of his fellow primarchs.

Well, he did fight side-by-side with the Emperor, go toe-to-toe with the Emperor, and did end up in the warp for 10,000 years leading the armies of Chaos.

Thinking he may have learned something through his travails.

Pretty sure Horus died on the battle barge and did no such thing.

A few million timmies wearing sola auxiliara armor fought side by side with the emporer. Only thing they learned is that friendly corpses can make good improvised barricades.

He went Toe to Toe for a little while with the Emperor, but that was with Demon assistance, a anti-immortal weapon, and lost even then. Seriously, I'm pretty sure the Chaos Gods must have felt pretty shafted given their investment in him.

I could see Tzench sighing heavily and turning to Slannesh, "Ferrus Manus. I said we should have corrupted Ferrus Manus. Or at least Dorn. Who did we go with? A prettyboy that gets the fllor mopped with his insides in round one. I. Just. Can't. Even. right now. "

Vulkan does get one over on Kurze before the fight between Kurze and Guilliman/El Johnson but if I recall correctly, Curze quite handily defeats Vulcan in their meeting on Macrage afterwards.

Blow for blow from the book.

-Vulkan's hammer connects with Curze's claws.
-Curze scrapes away some of Vulkan's armour whilst Vulkan smacks a warhammer into Curze's shoulder plate.
-Vulkan clips Curze around the head with his weapon, glancing and stunning him.
-Vulkan then has a full handed swing connect full on into Curze's midriff, knocking him off a building.
-Vulkan jumps off after him, Curze 'desperately' rolls away.
-Vulkan lashes out after him, just misses, and catches his weapon in nearby debris.
-Curze goes in close and penetrates his claws up through the armour into Vulkan's midriff.
-Vulkan swings an 'almost certainly lethal blow', which Curze just manages to dodge.
-Curze runs.
-Vulkan chases, throws warhammer which connects into Curze's shoulder guard, knocking him onto his face from behind.
-Vulkan goes for him with his bare hands, and Curze grabs the weapon, and turns over, smacking vulkan in the face with it.
-Marines intervene, Curze jumps onto a gunship and escapes.

I don't read that and see Curze 'defeating him handily'. I see Curze running for his life, generally having the better gotten of him in all straight up exchanges of weapons, and generally only even managing to do the damage he does because Vulkan is incoherent and virtually unarmoured. Certainly, it's a far cry from his performance against the other two primarchs.

With regards to him being 'tired', it should be remembered that he's a Primarch. They're engineered to be able to literally fight in hand to hand for days on end without tiring. If slinking around (the way he grew up doing) for a few days combined with a five minute engagement with the other two was enough to wear him out, he wouldn't be much of a Primarch.

Nah, Vulkan is very clearly portrayed in at least two books as superior to Curze in direct combat. Which means that either Vulkan is waaaay better than the Lion and Guilliman, or that Primarch strength is matched to plot needs.

Keep reading. If you get to the part where John Grammaticus says "No" to Curze, you've gone too far.

Pretty sure Lorgar could single-handedly take on the others even Angron by himself, maybe even with his eyes closed. He is just that swole.

Facts are chains that bind perception and fetter truth. For a man can remake the world if he has a dream and no facts to cloud his mind.

That's a mental image I'm going to cherish.
