yes you can as per the latest faq.. in fact the old war gear all costs the same as the new codex...which is less and they get the rules from the codex...which is better

wow, that's actually pretty legit. Reaper launcher on Autarch with that warlord trait that let's you target characters... I can see that being pretty useful!

So I think I do need a couple Fusion guns as suggested, and my Farseer probably needs to be on a Skyrunner to get to where I need him, so here's the new final list:

Hilarious. I just imagine the Rangers up front with all the characters behind them and the opponent just screaming because they can't target anyone else and they got a -2 to-hit on their shooting against those Rangers! I wish you had a Warlock just to Conceal that squad too!

List looks risky, but fun. Post pics and let us know how it goes.

Tactically I could put only 1 Ranger unit in LoS and use the Stratagem that makes them be hit on only 6s. That would infuriate plenty of opponents, although I don't doubt that my Rangers are going to die fast.

The Hemlocks are also going to be very close and will provide "cover" for the Saim-Hann Autarchs as they move forward to position a few decisive charges.
Really, the Saim-Hann Autarchs are the scalpels of the list, picking off specific threats in shooting and melee.
The Fusion Gun Autarchs provide specific anti-tank (although with so many reaper launchers, I don't see this being an issue).

I am hopefully going to get to try this out tonight. I'll let you know how it goes.

The only issue I see would be against CC alpha strike since your screens are wet paper in CC.

A bubblewrap of guardians or dire avengers may alleviate that risk.

A unit of 10 dire avengers could use "forwarned" from the farseer to shoot at a close range deepstrike and also overwatch on a 5+.

Given the mobility of the rest of the army, putting 15 Rangers in three strings to insulate should work fine, since he doesn't need to deploy up tight to his zone and can be back a bit. Leaving a 4.1" buffer will keep T1 assaults from rolling into him.

I do this with my AdMech Skitarii units.

Correct. And also keep in mind that the Hemlocks are great buffers too as they can only be assaulted by units with Fly. Deploying each Hemlock on the flanks and all 15 Rangers in a nice line 5" from my deployment all but guarantees turn 1 Alpha strike immunity.
Whatever does come close to assault the Rangers will pretty much be dead on turn 2 from my Autarchs' retaliation.

You're probably right, I'm likely just a bit phased by some of the nid players at my FLGS up in my face turn 1. Yay genestealers :(

Oh this list will never face Tyranids....ever, or Orks. This is a gimmick list that I would only ever play in casual games against non-Horde lists. Basically just against elite infantry list with a few transports.
This list would fold against any enemy that can outnumber it at least 5-to-1. It will also fold to a parking lot list with loads of tanks

Upon reevaluating the list, I don't think the jump generator Autarchs add enough to the list. The each costs more than a minimum Reaper unit, yet have less shooting and no real melee to make up for it.
I think I need to swap them for more Skyrunners, which unfortunately means I need to drop an Character for the points. Probably the Farseer
