I was a smidge turned off by the HH setting when I first heard the rumor, but you know, I'm pretty excited to finally do some first founding fluff stuff. I've avoided it in 30k/40k, would be fun and happily small scale to do it up in space battle land place. And seems pretty obvious expansion sideways into Xenos or forward into 40k is super easy.

Also who am I kidding, bring on the BFG!!!

Also, a lot of the groundwork has been laid in the FW Horus Heresy books. Clearly there are some BFG fans in the editrial team, because there are loads of references to the fleets controlled by each Legion, the ships involved in particular engagements and campaigns, and even some images of particular ships (like the Iron Blood).

Only issue I see is, with legion vs legion, barring colour schemes won't they be pretty identical?

I can't see that the upgrades will be that different, as the scale of the ships would be so small, it would be hard to distingush different types of missiles or weapon systems.

Somehow they've managed to make 18 viable different armies for 30K, with all the same dudes.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

'Scale' was never really a thing in BFG as the ship's actual position is represented by the tip of the flying base's stem. The models are just there to look pretty

Err, no. The scale of the models was not accurate to the "scale" of the combat(ie the distances involved), but they did have one relative to each other and I'd prefer any new models maintain it, both because I think it was just about "right" in terms of the smallest non-fighters being big enough without the largest ships becoming so big the gameplay was unwieldy, and also because I want stuff like my Ramilies Starfort to still match.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

So, is the plan just to smash together all the IN, Chaos, and SM ships into one fleet that you just paint differently depending on your legion? Sounds like fun... I want to play my DE again though and the only fleet I'm interested in picking up is Tau as I liked the FW designs.

Looks like it, apparantly our money isn't wanted.

It could simply be that the boxed set will be a Heresy boxed set with themed releases, and the rules are simply how space combat works. Then they are free to make whatever fleets they want to afterwards.

Looking for dice from the new AOS boxed set and Dark Imperium on the cheap. Let me know if you can help.
