The woman that was doing their castings has her own website, and she’s selling those exact models that are currently unavailable at FW. Her site explains the issue of FW not paying her, and that she is well the product at a huge discount to make up for her losses.

What makes less sense is mkiii and iv basic squads staying available now that the plastics have been out for so long. I can't imagine mkii has sold much less without the cheaper alternative.

Why? It makes perfect sense for Mk II to sell less actually - plastic Mk III/IV has what, 17 bodies worth of weapons per 10 guys? I can see someone buying 5 resin bodies and gluing extra plastic arms to them for variety, I can't see anyone doing that with Mk II as any other mark arms look silly on them...

£27 for 5 bodies in resin. Anywhere between £16 and £30 for 10 fully armed and optioned plastic bodies. I doubt many people have actually bought the resin to do that, when another full squad would be cheaper.

Hmm. Nah. I don't buy it.

FW don't have the man-power to keep up production of certain lines, so they pay a single individual to help them out? In the process, they send the current master molds to China, the hub of their third party pirate cast problems?

It doesn't add up to me. That of course doesn't mean it isn't true, but given that all the evidence we have is the website of a woman who is currently committing IP infringement against GW...

I think it's just much, much more likely that those lines simply don't sell as well as others, and it got to the point where it was time to renew the molds due to wear, and made the decision that it isn't worth doing given the number of orders for those lines. Especially with new lines coming in.

They are in different poses than plastic, so someone might have grabbed that while buying legion upgrades. And 'not many' is still more than 'near zero'.

Sigh. I'll just repeat what I said on the other forum: the guy is a clown wrong 95% of the time, especially his last idiotic fits against Idoneth and Kharadon, and his spewing of conspiracy theories AoS plastic armies somehow are killing HH because GW execs prefer AoS to 30K. The video you mean is BEYOND stupid (and comical at the same time) - either he made up FW employee (who, totally by accident, told him just what he wanted to hear), not showing us supposed 'excellent' proof the guy works there, or, if we're being charitable, just bought 4chan troll hook line and sinker, believing someone clearly immature who just googled FW office photo, again, just because he heard what he wanted to hear. And what he wanted to hear was any excuse to support his pathetic recaster apologism - "gee, look, it's all FW fault, whine whine, us spending thousands on toxic stolen resin has totally nothing to do with stuff being cancelled, waaa waaa, FW is just mean, buy more recast!"

Based on when I interviewed at FW production (which was admittedly a few months ago), I don't think they have the space for a 3d printer of the calibre they'd need to match their casts. If it happens, it'll be when GW have discontinued every last metal model and can free up the part of the factory floor they use for that.

I don't expect that to happen for a while though, especially given they'd have to make some tweaks to each and every CAD file to make them suitable for printing.

No idea about that story, however FW did move some production to China.
It was mostly for the larger items as far as I can remember not the upgrades. Check most items bigger than a LR say in the small print that they will take 20days or so for production. Those are the Chinese orders, it is also why certain recasters are able to produce perfect product of some models.

Your last point is especially laughable and comical, because not only the 7th ed Valkyrie shown dumber things (like being able to throw the troopers without parachutes out of its hatches, no harm done) - Irbis

I really can't accept the lines FW and FW white knights are saying. Mold damage and sales performance doesn't make sense. One Youtuber made this a point. Mold damage doesn't fit when you looked at the upgrade kits. Some of those had only been out maybe a year.

Why are they getting rid of weapon options and kits but keeping the base models available? Phobos pattern bolter gone, but MkIII armor still available. Most Tartaros weapons and armors are gone, but the base Tartaros model are still available. I can buy a complete marine squad, but I just won't be able to give them weapons.

I would not be surprised now that FW will announce next week that other Mk armors will be moved to Last Chance to Buy.

FW has said they are not scrapping HH but their current actions speak otherwise.

As far as what I plan to do, it is simple. My LFGS can't carry FW. FW doesn't seem interested in supporting their own product. I'll go to recasters then.

@Irbis I'd say 'not many' and 'practically zero' would have a negligible difference in this scenario. Point is, at least the full range of armour marks would stay available. I'd rather a full range of armours, than minor variations of pose in the same mark.

@Eldar Vampire Hunter gw have about an acre of space across their sites at lenton, and plenty of unused office space thanks to Kirby era staff cuts. If they wanted additional printers, they'd find a space for them, as it wouldn't need to be in the production rooms.

Actually, it appears that Forge World off-loaded a huge chunk of the production to China, and then didn’t pay the subcontractor. All of the cancelled product lines seem to be molds Forge World no longer have control over.

Huh, any source of that?

And refuse to love the Spinosaurus because it is a hamfisted attempt at taking what you loved, making it TREX +++ and trying to sell you it.
