There was also the Battletech animated series from the early 1990s which IIRC is on youtube in its entirety albeit every version I've seen has been of dubious quality and looks like it was originally recorded on a dirty VHS tape and converted to digital.
Even making allowances for the quality, it's not brilliant though and there were more than a few moments that Battletech players would watch whilst thinking "That wouldn't happen!". There was supposed to be a second series in the works at one stage but it never happened and the one series that did air has been retconned/rationalised as an in-universe holovid show so all the inconsistencies could be quietly brushed under the carpet and ignored.
Still, might be worth a watch if you've not seen it before. Watch in the correct order though as there is an arc and episodes do follow on from each other.

Oh, yes. I've got the entire series in really crap quality files in my iPad. Funnily enough, even though I watched it every time the BBC repeated it in my childhood, I'd never seen the first few episodes until recently - I'd never seen any of the episodes about how the three kids got together. Hadn't realised there was a sequel; I'll look into that.
There was quite a number of French / Japanese co-productions in the 80s. Ulysses 31 was another favourite, with a really cool spaceship.
Robotech is a bit too common for this thread, but it's fun watching the intro and then the HD intro that was made - by a fan I think. It definitely makes you wonder what could be with a full re-make of the original show.
I'm a big fan of Star Blazers, Space train 999 and Captain Harlock. I own a lot of that stuff.
We grew up with vengeance of the Space pirates on vhs and Robotech, a huge favorite as well. I always enjoyed the Macros saga more than the rest. Khyron is a trip.
I found Wizards recently and had to get it and have saved fir and ice to my cart for later. There's probably a lot more I can't remember the names of we would watch everything we could get. I still have a copy of project Aco, fists of the north star, dirty pare, All of Ranma 1/2, plastic little, Giant Robo as well. Not quite a junkie.

I didn't want to dig TOO deep, you always assume the person you are talking to is a layman. Better to say "Oh, you know about this" than having to give a 5 hour description of the history of a thing.

It's fun. there's some silliness in it. Things like "They've got a space tank!" Or a Space Submarine. But it's an enjoyable story and the season builds off the first. there is character growth and payoff's that are really fun and even sad. I have heard there is a third season but I don't think I have seen it or been able to find it. You might find it on DVD on Amazon.

So people have mentioned Cities of Gold but does anyone remember the Spartacus cartoon that often aired with it? It actually wasn't about The Spartacus, for those unfamiliar, so wasn't among those great ideas for kids shows like Rambo or Robocop. Though in that vein, I did enjoy the Starship Troopers CGI cartoon and it did seem to have a lot of influence on the Mongoose mini game too.

I remember that from when I was a kid, and I remember it being SO COOOL!
Tried to re-watch it recently. It... didn't age well.

When this came out I was really excited, since I was a huge Battletech fan.
I watched one, and never watched another because it was THAT bad.

I remember Spartacus. It was a post-apocalyptic, journey to the center of the Earth deal, where the main character had this way cool armored bracer that could turn into a crossbow or a grapple hook launcher or a couple other things.
It was weird as feth, but I remember loving it.

I grew up in Germany so I missed out on a lot of cartoons. We went to visit my grandparents once or twice in the US and made tapes loaded with cartoons to take back with us. We had a lot of hana barbara and Bugs bunny and related WB character shows on tape some kind of VHS collection those years. I remember watching Spiderman on Beta growing up Some tape packed with episodes. The most GIJOE I recall was the weather dominatior story line, followed much later with the movie.
We saw the Transformer movie in the theater and the He-man She-ra crossover, one year on one of our trips to the states.

There was one I can't remember the name of that involved these giant monster toys plus action figures of guys in brightly colored power armor. One monster was a plant Cthulhu thing, one some skeleton creature, and one was a rock/magma monster.
Another that might squeak in was Captain Power and the soldiers of the future. It was live action but used CGI for the Biodreads and was the first tv show to do that. It also had the most traumatizing death in any kid show with the death of Pilot in the last episode in which JMS of Babylon 5 fame apparently wrote to be like times he'd been on the phone with friends trying to kill themselves that he couldn't get to in time.

The Inhumanoids. The skeleton creature made zombies by touching people and could only be stopped by getting dropped in an Olympic swimming pool full of amber, which the heroes always managed to have lying around. That monster freaked me out way more then the plant one or the rock one.

May not strictly be fantasy, but it's got cartoon dogs playing as musketeers who somehow never seem to lay a paw on an actual musket.

You can probably take a guess at when this originally aired, bear in mind that at this time this was the first alternate take on the Thunderbirds franchise.

Looking back on it, it's a sort of retrospective Power Rangers sort of show, but as a boy and a fan of Transformers and Zoids and anything that involved big robots in the mid-1980s I loved this show.
