I do like the metal! It's a little thick but the way you've got it makes it feel cartoony in a positive way. Kind of He-manish i suppose.

Yes the thinkness is totally the issue I reckon. That’s why it’s looking lovely at arms length but up close it’s not standing up to scrutiny.

Thinner paints and more layers I reckon. That way I’ll get a better smoother gradient.

My girlfriend said it made her think of He-Man as well haha.

Thanks for the kind words! I wasn't happy with the faces of my humanoid figures for ages but after i got my head around eyes it seemed to just make them pop you know?
I use the full blown cheaters method of large horizontal black line across the eye socket. Two dabs of white either on either side of that line -- hey presto an eye.
