Pulsating Possessed Chaos Marine

Well out of the armies that are focused on melee according to 40k stats Chaos Daemons seem to be doing the best with a >50% faction win rate (and greater win rate as part of a soup list). Followed by GSC with 50%, then Orks leading the bottom half of all factions with a 48% win rate.

I think although daemons can do psychic and shooting to some degree. The most played in competitive is plaguebearers and bloodletters with daemon princes. If you don't mind mixing your chaos gods you can make an effective list with little else than these three units.

Death Guard.

- Daemon prince goes into combat, smashes stuff, survives with his 2+ armor and everyone punches themselves in their own faces in amazement
- Blightlords with flails simply wipe infantry off the board without taking serious casualties themselves
- Plague marines can be fully equipped for close combat and they actually do pretty well
- Pox walkers eat other infantry to create more pox walkers.
- Deathshrouds feth stuff up with their scythes
- Typhus has an even more bad-ass scythe
- Mortarion's scythe is the size of a trukk. Seriously, it's exactly the same length. He also hits like one
- Bloat drones and blightcrawlers end up in combat quite often and do ok there
- My friggin nurgle artillery tanks do more successful charges than my ork boyz
- Helbrutes suffer no penalty for moving so they are free to charge up the field guns blazing

If you want more close combat, add nurgle daemons, who also completely lack shooting and settle things with their fists.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.
