100% agree, I really can't stand the Scions just because they're a downgrade. If the Scions were something else I probably wouldn't mind them although their chestplate is silly garbage.
But I also loved Storm Troopers back in their 3rd ed. release. I'd find it difficult to pick a favourite between Storm Troopers and Kasrkin.
Kasrkin were what? 2006? So I can't really call them "old". Old to me is pre-2000

Not to sound like I'm harping on here, but the flies are optional and the Nurgling (which is on the original model BTW) is trivially easy to remove.

oof---I would have used that as an example of a model that has aged the worst. It's got that classic "look at these weapons I found while I'm trying to poop" pose and horrific proportion that kept me away from 40k back in the day.
IDK how old Telion is but he's resin so he has to be at least round 8 years old? His pose and proportion and detail all look great.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades! |

Yea, they're not THAT old, but I took the question to mean something that's either very old or has been replaced by a new line.

Much of the 2nd Ed Eldar range.
2nd Edition Calgar is a beauty of a sculpt. Amazingly clean.
The metal Terminator Captain released in 3rd.
A good number of the other marine characters from that era still look great.
The old plastic Tyranid Warrior, if you get the right paint job.

I was always a fan of the old vindicare assassin, the one looking down the rifle with his foot on an ork skull. The rest of the new plastic assassins are generally improvements IMO, but the metal vindicare still looks great and has a better pose.
The vyper eldar skimmer has also held up pretty well too. I’m fairly sure that was end of 2e.

That is a good one. Artel W makes a great homage to that classic that I've been meaning to pick up.
I've always liked the witch hunter aesthetic for fantasy and 40k. It's a shame that other than Inquisitor Greyfax they seem to have abandoned that aspect of both of their game systems :(

The old metal Vindicator I like, I have 3 of them:
My favorite model ever is a 3 piece SM veteran (body, left arm, base), the detail is awesome, he is incredibly easy to paint due to the open pose.

The thing I really like about the Kasrkin is that they still looked like guardsmen. Their armour just looked like a bulkier version of the armour worn by the standard Infantry.
In contrast, Scions have this weird pseudo-medieval armour that looks like someone ported a AoS model into 40k. I also hate all the extra crap on them (the antenna, the searchlight, the rucksacks etc.). I knw you can cut some of them off, but I don't see that as a point in their favour.

Kasrkins were part of their regiment, it made sense that they have armor similar to Cadians, Stormtrooper and Scions were their own thing, so make them stand out works for me.

A lot of Eldar models stand the test of time well in my opinion. It's probably the unique aesthetic. Most of the Aspect Warriors, warlocks, guardians and the Vyper all look great and are quite old. Then you have the Avatar lol. Its also not accounting for having to work with failcast.
