You could have the reach of chaos still influencing the Word Bearer because of his connection to his primarch. He just might not know it and/or it might be subtle.

If he's not killed right away, maybe you could have the word bearer in a squad, but he always has to be attended by a captain or an apothecary. You could give the apothecary a commissar type rule and have him take the word bearer's gene-seed to auto-pass a leadership test. This kills the word bearer.
