That's ham-handed even by
GW standards.
Sudden death still applies to some
CA 2018 missions it's just no longer a blanket rule.
It was amended to prevent people being able to build to table your opponents over having to take an army that can actually complete objectives/win conditions.
Except some of the win conditions actually make certain codex's/builds unable to compete mono.
Butthen again this is 8th edition and apparently soup is more sacred than the viability of any mono codex factions in
GW's eyes.
It essentially
GW trying to improve balance be forcing restrictions on the lists you can build, going back on one of the big new things for 8th edition.
