Transforming robots you say?

Anyone tried Bot War?

I love Bot War! Tragically, though, it's robots don't transform, despite appearances. I still want to get my hands on a starter set, though, just as soon as I am allowed to paint something that isn't Zero Dark.

What are the solo rules like?

Brilliant, obviously.

But by way of a brief outline of the mechanics, rather than a value judgement - which I'll leave to someone who's tried them - the solo rules use a normal 54-card deck to contol the enemy forces. After each action, you flip a card. The number tells you which element activates and the suit tells you what it does. If you flip a Joker, you generate a "complication": roll on a table and something random happens.

There is only one solo scenario included in the book. I do plan to write some more, but I'm focussed on Zero Dark and Hardwar, right now, so it'll have to wait. It's not hard to make up your own, though.
