Again, the anti-mutant sentiment in 40k is more likely to come from Strontium Dog than the X-Men. Especially since mutation in 40k was caused by environmental pollution, and more likely to result in an odd-shaped body than magic powers.

Oh, another thing. Denis Villeneuve is ALSO a big fan of that film. The garbage ships dumping on San Diego in BR2049 are a direct reference to the garbage ships that dumped todd on that planet. Also a dig at all of the big production houses "dumping" content on SD for SDCC every year ...
