Absoloutly, which contributed a big deal to me ditching it since having only had like 1 or 2, which left the game feel utterly unfinished, i decided not to say my monthly pay in it. I hate paradox for that, I get the dlc thing and to an extent it may prove extremly beneficial for a games but paradox turns that straight to eleven which results in generalised cancer.

The problem is that paradox has started selling in essence cut content turds to monetize their games.
And worst of all is atm hoiv, even after 3 dlc spain has no focus tree.
Or bulgaria, or greece or or or.

How I felt about EU4 and the dlc's contents as I looked into it was that theiy sold the game knowingly unfinished, then regularly added monetised upgrades patching the humongous lacks the game bore, considering that the content of each new release is absolutly random at most times.

But let's end this here as it's not a paradox are bad thread!

The first few EU4 DLCs were pretty good.

Lately though, the expansions have made the game worse IMO (I gave up at the design diaries for Cradle of Civilization (or the Russia mini-pack, I forget). Stellaris was and remains a huge disappointment, and Imperator looked like a sack of crap from the get-go.

One of their PR streams in particular made it look terrible, when the lead designer was asked what the draw of the game was and he just shrugged and waved the mouse, and muttered 'paint the map.' It didn't help that he spent the game messing about, declaring multiple wars, failing at all of them and it made no difference whatsoever. Though the reality amazingly seems to have been worse.


As for longest playtime, sadly despite everything, EUIV probably has it (though WoW might, but that's hard to say, as I've culled characters more than once). But I didn't even bother to reinstall EUIV when I replaced my computer's SSD six months back.

Civ 5 & 6 (about 40 hours in favor of Civ5) and Fallout 4 oddly come next, despite not being entirely happy with any of them.

Then again, there are a lot of unlogged hours in baldur's gate 1 and 2, both the original versions and the EE re-releases.

For me would be Everquest over 4 years.

I'm not sure about my wall of fame or shame in video games. For xcom 2 I've totalled about 2800 hours while my computer was online. More realistically it's probably gone passed 3000 hours total but steam doesn't count when you're offline.

That second thing is something else and I don't know how it's numerically calculated. It was implemented long after I quit, when WoW annihilated them.

I had something similar. A Trainz Railroad Simulator 2006 custom map. I started working on it in 2013/14 but unfortunately, I lost if a few years ago due to PC crashing down. I should have a backup somewhere on external HDD though, but that one says data is corrupted and needs to be wiped.
Sweet-sweet memories. A rural mountain, single-track railway going from the city of Winterhold (not that one) through the village of Wolfish, small-town called Nope and ending in King's Gate, all with fully scripted timetables for passenger transport going back and forth and occasional heavy freight train going from or to the King's gate border with another country. The trip from Winterhold to King's gate took about 35 minutes.
I also had a main railway on the same map going from a city in the mountains city which's name I don't remember (it had scripted trams going around) through Beefham, Winterhold, then another two cities down to a coastal city called North Harbor. I didn't get to scripting this one, but it had working signals and fully modeled terrain and scenery around the railway. Same goes for the Winterhold-King's gate line. It sneaked between tall mountain peaks, went alongside steep cliffs, went through long tunnels, drove through deep valleys and dense forests, climbed up and down the hills...

Skyrim is sitting at 705 for the original game and around 600 for the SE edition.

I've got over 1000 hours in Fallout NV and close to 400 in FO 4, FO 3 is sitting at over 800 hours.

I put nearly 600 hours of play into Borderlands, and double that into Borderlands 2.

One of my guilty pleasure games is called Age of Mythology. I can play it at work on my laptop computer, so I've got like 400 hours in it. Stellaris also has around 200 Hours of play.

I don't play a lot of multiple player games, but I've got 300+ hours in TF2 (Unfortunately the meme kids have overrun that game and turned it to crap.) and a couple hundred hours into RS 2: Vietnam.

Vermintide 1 sits at around 150 hours and Vermintide 2 is sitting at round 100 hours. FS killed VT2 with its 2.0 update though. :(

I would say I have about 3-4 years sunk into EVE online, another 2-3 years into lineage 2 before that. That's about 6 years of 12 hours a day non stop on those two games. Thank god I managed to get out of that lol
So thats something like 10,000+ hours? *shudders*

Tings like FF7 with multiple play throughs of 70hrs and DS3 seem like nothing in comparison.

I can't do MMOs. Just never got into em I guess.

I'm not social enough for MMOs. I hate having to match my schedule with other people to do raids and stuff.

I would say it would have to be Warcraft 3: The Frozen throne custom games.

I played custom games there for YEARS all the time.

Second is likely Dota 2. While I been playing it since the beta around 2012, It shows me at 2570 hours on steam.

When I was younger and Played EvE I once stayed awake for 36 hours blockading a system and blowing up Germans(mostly) it was fun I remember waking up at about 8 in the morning face down on my keyboard with corp mates shouting at me to get to bed. I asked how they knew I was asleep and they pointed to chat where I had typed “fxtvdfhhtdsfhbcssssssssssfvfgbhhhnvrcvgtf” when I face planted into the aforementioned keyboard.

Sometimes I still miss EvE but then I remember how gak it got 5 years in with rampant cheating by devs and borked code and shoddy updates nd I suddenly have no regrets.
