These chaps are basically done. I might take a better non-camera phone photo at some point. They were really fun but also quite time consuming; might add more, or see it I can use bits to make a couple at some point.

I can't decide if I want to lose the files/smoke backpack. Its a very clever piece of kit but I doubt I will do it justice, and it makes him a bit less imposing/menacing IMO. Thoughts?

Once this guy is done its only tanks for a while, once I figure out how to make them. I got an eBay job lot of 'My son left these in my house ten years ago; please take them'. They are borken as hell and missing parts, but we shall see...

Thanks. There is a better picture of the Daemon Prince on page 1. Rally proud of it; probably the best big model I have painted.
I have three other of the Creature Caster Daemons somewhere (invested in the Kickstarter back before I had a kid and free time suddenly changed significantly)....

As far as I can tell this Land Raider was assembled using chopsticks at night by someone who was at least slightly on fire*. It is wonky in all sorts of ways (not helped by me cutting and adding some tank tracks from another kit). Luckily I'm playing Death Guard and can hopefully play into its ramshackle nature. At least I have found some ways of attaching weapons as this bit of the kit was missing.

* In fairness is was an eBay purchase from a man who basically said 'My son has moved out and left a bunch of broken junk he refuses to pick up. Please take it'.

Makes me think a lot of Third Eye Nuke's Nurgle stuff. I've always much preferred the darker more washed out horror style for Nurgle. Nice stuff!

I have been suffering with an horrendous cold (just a cold mind you; I've already had my brush with Corona and have no desire to repeat it!).
While I appreciate Grandfather's blessings it does cut into painting time, though I suppose I have coughed up some inspirational shades of yellow.

Anyway I have three models left to complete that sweet sweet brigade detachment (though with the changes to 9th edition I guess they are no longer a requirement, but screw it I'm finishing!)



I am running low on steam though (virus aside). I don't find tanks as fun to paint as troops and these fellows are damn fiddly (my fault for stupid levels of green stuff). My painting tends to come in surges and I probably need to move on to a new project (Blood Bowl Elves...), but I want to finish these damn things!

Anyway, 'Scuttles' is coming along a little; went for dirty phlegm yellow for the legs :



Oh and, at the risk of shameless self-promotion, Necromunda: Uprising is up for pre-order and features a novella and short story written by yours truly. No Nurgle-ness I'm afraid, but a fair amount of despair and dread to savour.

Still labouring at scuttles. Pretty close to just finishing because my brain is starting to resemble the tank's flesh, but there are little bits here and there I can't just leave (blood is too vivid in places for a start). But here are some hastily snapped picts:

I really love the tanks - walker is great and the buttholes looking suitably mangey.

Your corroded metal palette is great e.g. Scuttles' cannons, really gritty and evocative - I can just feel the oil slick.

Flapjack: Thanks! The tanks have been a lot of fun, especially as they used up a bunch of old kits (somehow that is always more satisfying)

Small update:



Impulsively decided that this tank also needed an eye and teeth. Then realised I'd already added an eye higher up. This tank was so incomplete I had to cut chunks of random kits to plug the gaps.

I figure that would be the Death Guard approach anyway.
