Update: I now have Agrax Earthshade.
This tank seems less cheerful than the others.

Heh, honestly don't have many (I'm pretty rough with my greenstuff-ing). Thank you for your kind words though.
I guess my main advice is, if your going to possess a tank or something make sure you cut into the hull, rather than just sculpting on top of it. It makes it seem more like flesh is oozing out.
Also I tend to get better results when I add a layer, let it dry, and come back to it. Don't try and do too much at once, and focus on getting a good shape before adding details.

Much appreciated, will use in my conversion project.
Still awesome job.

Thanks sennacherib. The Land Raider was the made from mainly leftovers and junk, so I'm glad its coming out pretty good.
Getting there (sunlight is washing out the grime a little, just like real life).
Think its 90% done. (keep finding bits that need work!)

And I'm done. A complete Battalion complete coming in at slightly over 3000 points (which will no doubt change when the new codex)
Managed to snap some decent (for me) photos of the tanks.
Chuckles
I think I started this guy about 6 years ago?
Was intending it to be a Vindicator for my Renegades army, but time makes fools of us all.
Skuttles
Thanks Tom for all the legs. Really happy how it came together in the end.
I keep wondering if I should have turned it into a Defiler, but I think Plague Burster Crawler is easier (look at it crawl!)
Grumbles
Once again, cannot over empahsise how much of a bodge this build is (look carefully and note the lack of right angles).
No wonder the poor sod looks so miserable.
I'm really pleased with it though; at one point I thought it was too bust to be anything but battlefield debris, so it's nice it got to be an actual tank.

Thanks RobertsMinis; really appreciate it.
Realised I never did pictures of the finished Daemons Engines, so as I had the lightbox out:
(They actually look less possessed than the other tanks)
And my Lord and his Terminator crew (dammit there should be seen of them in total!)

So I found some more Plague Marines...
Figured a couple of Blight Launchers is always a good idea. One's a duplicate, but I figure they will be in separate squads so my OCD can probably cope.
I then had a go at converting some missing Elite units.
Biologus Putfifier

Needs a bit more green stuff here and there. Wish I had more grenades...
Foul Blightspawn

Technically his gun doesn't have a trigger, but I figure he just clenches his spleen.
Plague Surgeon
As an experiment I thought I would keep him a little cleaner than most. By Nurgle's whim the good doctor is unusually resistant to catching the plagues, a tragic condition he stoically endures.

Happy New Year.
Was hoping to have finished these guys by the end of the year, because it might be nice to consign Nurgle to 2020.
But, sadly, it looks like our Grandfather's presence will persist for a few more months at least...
They need bits here and there, and I think the bigger bases need some decoration or nurglings or something.
But they're getting there slowly but surely.
Because that's how Death Guard roll.

Decided to take a break from Death Guard. Try something different.
Not super different though. I mean, I don't think I know how to paint without brown washes.

I must confess it took me a depressingly long time to realise that was in fact two photographs stitched together...
Thanks for sharing

Inconsistently.
Usually I shade down rather than highlight up. So I base coat white, add a layer of bleached bone, then mix that with more white and highlight that up.
I then use brown/black washes to tone it down (focussing the recesses for the darker shades), and then play around with highlights/shades and glazes until I am happy with the result (or give up because life is too short). I don't really have a set recipe, and some models are brighter/darker/greener etc. Luckily with Death Guard that really doesn't matter.

Hey mate, Gross, disgusting, wonderful work as always! Love the vehicles and their sculpted/kitbashed bits, and those DG character conversions are really well executed and look great painted up. Love the nuclear green and the dingy white together. An impressive start on the big beastie too. Big models have always intimidated me, but I love the colour gradients on both skin and horns and the general slop of him. Looking forward to more!

Thanks man.
Yeah, I hate big models. I'm much happier doing swarms. This guy has actually sat on my desk for two years as I've kept putting it off. But I'm really pleased with how its going.
WIP
I read somewhere that you should break big models up into sections, and this has really helped me. I've also been using a wet pallet for the first time. Really helps when I'm constantly mixing paint.

He looks much greener here. Think its the blue painting light. I'm happy either way. Still need to do his legs and butt, as well as dirty up the weapons.
Then there's the base...

So far I'm loving painting this guy; really great textures.
Made a little more progress (legs are done). Just started slime base. Weapons need more work.
