Agreed its very hard to say. I was surprised that Ossiarchs appeared when they did honestly as I would have thought a totally new army would have been one of the teased aelf pair or an updated existing death force would have been a fleshed out vampires or skeletons. I do think that the writing is on the wall that Vampires will get attention from GW. They've always been popular and continue to be so its just, like many AoS armies, a case of waiting their turn.

Yes, I had noticed that.

Although looking at the Soulblight allegiance, it is actually (for the first time, really) possible to make an army consisting ONLY of Vampires (without the need for other Undead like skeletons and zombies).

There is probably a good chance of a Vampires getting their own Battletome and faction in the future, but I can't wait that long! lol.

Those dudes will look cool, and it really doesn’t matter using 3rd party if you’re not playing at a GW store.

It's POSSIBLE, but I wouldn't say it is advised unless your group is very casual. Depends what you want out of the game really.

Blood Knights are alright, but hordes are king in the current meta.

Got all my models. The Reaper bat swarms look decent. Mantic Vanguard Hellequin cavalry model I was going to use as a Vampire Lord was absolute crap. It's the only one I've tried putting together. Poor quality model, poor materials, laser cut wood base which doesn't stick to plastic model. It is now in the bin. Am reluctant to even open the Soul Reavers cavalry box for fear of more of the same. If they're ok, I might persevere. If not, 1) I won't be buying any more Mantic models and 2) I won't be playing AoS. Will stick with 40k and GW minis.
