Who decides it doesn't matter? You? Me? The rules exist as a framework. I am of the opinion that you cannot remain logically consistent if you ignore some rules and not others (i.e. If you ignore one rule you can ignore them all). The only objective standard is to follow what the rules actually say. A lot of people used to say it doesn't matter that some models could end up with no CCW and thus unable to attack, but GW still fixed it. A lot of people used to say it doesn't matter that the original BRB missions allowed you to deploy models outside of your deployment zone so long as one model of the unit was inside it, but GW fixed it anyway. A lot of people used to say it doesn't matter that you were forced to use Single Use weapons the first time you fired, but GW fixed it anyway.
