Digging that group shot, nice to see the project's progress on an army scale. Also I'm increasingly reminded of the Necron boxes I've got amassed on my shelf of shame

Why do you think I ended up doing this project?

This time, Gauss Immortals.

Busy running around today, but I managed to get some painting done. It's the fancy new(ish) Cryptek!

Holiday obligations are probably going to slow me down (but not stop me!) but I'll try to keep doing daily updates of progress.

Currently I have 1152 points painted in total and with Mr. Cryptek finished I have a legal Battalion.

More Warriors.

And another progress shot.

Cracking rate of progress! It looks like you’ll be needing to restock on necrons by Christmas Day!

Yesterday was too busy to get something finished, but I did manage to get some Wraiths basecoated, which allowed me to finish them today.

I still have a box of unassembled Wraiths, but I think 6 is enough for now. Maybe in the future.

Three more Tomb Blades, bringing me to 6.

Continuing the high tempo, high quality output! I really like the minty green power devices you’ve gone for, what’s your recipe?

The power devices and highlights are Sybarite Green followed by Gauss Blaster Green. Both have to be fairly thick (or multiple layer) to become opaque over the basecoat/each other.

Looks like this is going very well! I think that style of green is one of my favorites i've seen

Great! Thanks, I might have to look in to those! Merry Christmas!

Today I finished my second Triarch Stalker.

I completely ran out of Martian Ironcrust finishing this guy's base. I thought I had bought more, but fell victim to a re-labeling snafu (GW changed the label from 'texture' to 'technical') and I ended up with 2 containers of Ironearth instead, thinking the 2 different bottles from 2 different locations were 2 different texture paints. They were not.

Ten more Necron Warriors.

I'm in the home stretch now, with only a Doomsday Ark to paint.

Bringing me to 1733 points painted in total, 1561 points painted during my vacation.

These are by far the best looking Necrons I have ever seen. Such a simple but impressive paint scheme.
Well done!

Nothing to see here, move along mortal.

A really impressive feat, painting the army in this short time. Love the contrast the bases give and the color in their eyes and on their weapons. It may not contrast much, but looks like a (un)natural extension of their living metal.

Thank you! I'm glad people like them.

That's what I was going for, sort of a cold, inner glow without going to OSL levels of effort.

Doomsday Ark Complete!

I wanted to have more glowy bits on this model but so many areas are hard to reach and it's got the fiddliest construction that I didn't think painting before assembly was practical.

Lots of hard edges to highlight though! So many, many hard edges.

That's the last unit to paint! I'll probably paint more Necrons eventually, but not right away. I'm a little burned out on them, no surprise there.

Thanks to everyone for their kind comments over the course of the project. I will probably post some full army pictures tomorrow sometime.

Good job! Can we get a shot of the Necrons facing off against last years' Eldar?

Maybe. I need to lay out my painting for 2019 and take pictures.

Full army picture!

I was amazed to find we had a red bedsheet to form the backdrop. I have an old flocked red mat but it's been stored so long it's impossibly creased, even if it would have been a better color match.

Thanks. The Warriors will probably wait for a good while (I have 40 warriors already), but I'm looking forward to the rest of them.

I wondered if you’d be back to these for Indomitus, glad got see that you are! I’m thinking of borrowing your recipe for my Indomitus Necrons, it’s good to see how cool they look ahead of starting!
