Easy E wrote: Um.... I hate to tell you but the Blofeld idea was not new in Spectre......
Spoiler:
Blofeld being Bond's brother is a new element though, which is the part that was pointed out. They weren't related, adoptive or otherwise, before in the films or books. They may have stolen that from Austin Powers: Goldmember.
Quantum of Solace is a bit of an odd duck because it was made when a writer's strike was going on but the schedule for filming was set so Craig and the Director were having to edit and rewrite as they were shooting.
Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.
Thanks, Ahtman. Believe me I'm well aware that Bond and Blofeld have history together, just... that step taken in Spectre was a bit far and a bit convenient for my liking.

Yeah it was stupid and made the Bond-universe more inbred in a not-cool Star Wars way. And completely unnecessary for plot purposes.
I can't believe how they managed to mess the movie up. I remember watching the opening action scene and sensing something was off...because Bond said to his lady friend 'I'll be back', then went to kick some ass...and did not come back to the girl. Bond should always keep his word to the ladies.

Given that one Bond's girlfriend already died in Casino Royale, I don't think they want to do that again. Unless the movie actually ends with Bond dying (which seems a possibility given it's a last Craig movie anyway).
Some die, some live. Usually if there's one good and one evil, the evil one dies and the good one gets the happy ending last scene.
Odd ones out I can think of include Skyfall
Spoiler:
(M's a Bond girl, right?)
and You Only Live Twice.

I think it is actually pretty rare for Bond girl to die - secondary/evil ones often do, but the 'good' Bond girls not so often.I think Bond girls survived in all Moore movies for example, not 100% sure tho.
By the way, something that might interest other Bond fans; my favourite internet comedians, Loading Ready Run, have been doing a Bond rewatch podcast. Full of interesting bits of trivia and has been giving me a damn good chuckle over the past few weeks.

In fact I think at least one dies in all his films - eg:
Moonraker - Corinne Dufour - eaten by dogs
For your Eyes only - Countess Lisl von Schlaf dies after being run down
Spy who loved me - Naomi - missile blows her up
Golden Gun - Andrea Anders is shot

I was trying to think actually, if there was a Bond movie in which no women die at all, whatsoever...
Spoiler:
Spectre might be the exception! Checking on IMDB, specifically we have:
- Madeleine, the love interest he rides off into the sunset with
- Lucia, played by Monica Bellucci - Bond arranges for Felix Leiter to get her away safely (though that'd happen offscreen, so it's questionable)
- Moneypenny, who obviously lives, because she's Moneypenny
- Estrella, the woman Bond leaves at the very start saying that he'll come back - and never does
- various bit parts and extras, who are unlikely to be victim to any Bond-related deaths during the course of the movie
