This is a brilliant force - well-painted and thematic with creative sourcing of bits. Really interested in where you take the plane, and I may look into a few of these kits myself!

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the kind words and advice, chaps I've slowed down a bit as I'm now splitting my hobby time between this project and a Slaanesh force for 'Age of Sigmar' (the Sigvald reveal inspired me to finally start work on the Slaanesh army I've been wanting to do for ages). I've spent the last week building the Char C2 tank kit. I'll post a pic soon as it's nearly built (just the tracks to go now).

I finally finished building the 1:35 Meng Char 2C this evening. A decent quality kit as one might expect from Meng (all the bits went together with a good fit and minimal fuss), although more intricate than your standard wargaming tank. The next kit to be done is by Zvezda. Fingers crossed it won't be too tricky.
Anyway-Pictures included of the assembled model I have included a Desert legionnaire for scale
Hopefully it'll be okay as a super heavy of some sort. It's narrower than a Baneblade but also longer and a bit higher in profile. As TLofS is not as important in modern 40k this hopefully won't be too big an issue.

This is a 1:43 scale toy car that I'm going to re-paint and use as an armoured sentinal. I'm planning on three eventually, so I'm keeping an eye on ebay for bargains. I'll also need to get a couple of crew packs from Empress miniature's 'Jazz Age Imperialism' line. These come with drivers and lewis gunners.
I'll probably be using Perry miniatures camel riders (from the Sudan range) as scout sentinels.

Some great additions!

I haven't see that Char 2C kit before but it certainly deserves attention. I'll add it to the Historical Model thread.

Thank you, Kid_Kyoto

I FINALLY finished building the T35. That was quite the endurance test. It's a bit wobbly here and there and may need a little extra tlc before I paint it, but it's built
It's about the same size as the Char C2 so will be joining the ranks of super heavy vehicles in the Desert legion. It's about the same height as a Baneblade, slightlylonger and about 70% as wide.

Being a Zvezda kit, the quality was not great, but they do make some kits of vehicles that few other manufacturers would bother with, so I must give them their dues for that

I've been building stuff for the last month or so. I should really do some more painting quite soon.

There's some great stuff in here!

I love taking models & parts from disparate sources and making a cohesive original force. And that's exactly what you've done here.

Keep up the good work!

The paint job on those infantry models is really top-notch. They have a great, natural, realistic feel to them. Fantastic work.

Fun looking tank . is it me, or do GW models always seem a lot wider than their real-world counterparts?

They are. In real life you want a tank to have the smallest possible front to make a smaller target and a lower area needed for the thickest armor, so tanks tend to be elongated with the engines and ammo in back.

GW tanks do have some nice concessions to realism, but in the end they're designed to look good.

Makes sense, thanks for the explanation!

Thanks for the kind words, chaps

Yes, the real world examples do tend to be narrower. I seem to remember on the first tanks a lot of it was also about making them narrow enough so that they could be transported by rail (they had to be able to fit through tunnels on the back of a train). With the MK1 tanks they had to remove the sponsons for transportation, but by the Mk4s they had designed them so that the sponsons would slide into the body of the tank for transporting. Later designs went with turrets rather than side sponsons, but being easy to transport remained a factor in their design.
