Stux wrote: I hope they do something about Seraphon Coallesced. It's not that they're breaking the meta quite, it's just a really feel bad rule for more casual play. Especially with how it affects certain armies much more than others.
Ogors being a prime example, with many of their units losing half their offensive power for the entire battle. But it renders several units pretty useless in a bunch of armies.
The issue is its army wide, so the only way to play around it is to list tailor, if your army even can. I'd either make it a less powerful effect (eg instead of reducing damage by 1, reduce rend by 1) or make it apply to only 1 unit selected in your hero phase lasting until the next hero phase.
Coalesced is just more attacks and summoning, what is causal breaking about that? Many armies summon. Or is there something you mean that I am over looking? I don't really have a problem with Seraphon anymore for causal play, their old Battalions were extremely hard to handle for people that don't know how to handle it.
Starborn is summoning. Not coalesced,
In aos2 in game breaker lists battalions didn't come into play much. Don't think i even saw them on casual lists.

And that one High Elf rule where you have to fight the General, but since you can't reach him - you can't fight anything. That's just either garbage rules writing of they forgot to add one additional sentence.

Oooo yeah. One of the biggest reasons I'm hoping for early 3rd lumineth book is precisely to get rid of that one(also would be nice not having to spend 30minutes explaining all the tricks and combos and weird rule interactions my army has if opponent has not faced lumineth. More simplified down to warscrolls own strengths like sce/orruk books tyvm!)
And this as lumineth player.
Sure in practice I have only seen it actually USED once as in actually do it's thing. But that's because opponents know how to avoid that like plague(I make sure I point the rule out in advance. Pre-game I ask a) have you played vs lumineth before b) are you aware of how this warlord trait works) and even this has huge influence on game.
Once I field lumineth again either I play other subfactions or offer opponent choice. Play as is or allow me to swap warlord trait for one of the lumineth generic ones instead. Those aren't so bonkers good and allows me to play syar without that feel bad rule.
That just SUCKS. By bare minimum it should be within 3" rather than 6".

The December balance is only for the worst armies, you will see changes in their own faq if something is wrong, or if it wasn't balanced correctly then in the new Generals Handbook.
tneva82 wrote: Stormcast, ironjaws, archaon are indeed worst armies.
Worst from both sides, bad and OP. LRL and SOB as well as SCE and Archaon are all problems, but so are Gits, Sylvaneth, BoC, and Skaven are on the very low end.
You may remember back when we looked at the dragons arriving in the Mortal Realms that we mentioned a balance update for Warhammer Age of Sigmar was on the way. We have more news on that front coming soon, so stay tuned to Warhammer-Community.com this week for more.

Or we'll get the news 'this week' (i.e., the week of the 20th to the 24th) as the article says and it will drop sometime between the 27th and 30th.

News doesn't mean "comes within x days". It just says they are going to tell something about it. That's literally all it means.
When they first mentioned the balance update they said it would be coming this month and it's also mentioned in the 'This Week in Warhammer' video:

Yes I know. Your point is? In case you haven't noticed GW releases has been awry so it's possible they decided for some reason delay it.
Read the article and check definition of news. They didn't actually say it will come next week. They said NEWS come next week. Balance update coming in january would be news.
They said chaos battletome would be coming up october. Did it come up in october? If you say yes what tome? As far as I know only tomes released so far is stormcast, orruk and nurgle which came in december.
Don't treat old statements as locked in stone Holy Truths. That way you cannot be dissapointed.

The FAQS are available now from Warhammer Community.
New warscrolls for Nagash, Kragnos, and Archaon (and horrors of Tzeentch). Kragnos seems to have lost his bonus against Dragons? right as dragons actually come out? lol.
Don't really see any big changes to help my Gloomspite or Bonereapers. Anything stand out to folks? I was really hoping that Mega-Gargants would get a points increase IMO.

Judging by the dates of their FAQ/Errata, it looks like those updates may be possibly forthcoming, just not uploaded.

Nerf to Amulet hurts Gargants more than anyone I guess. It was worth 17.5 wounds to them, now it's 8.75

Or am I reading it wrong?
It was Archaon mostly, I believe.

I'm not a big fan of this, as a Kruleboyz/ Skryre mainly player. We sort of had to rely on Unleash Hell to work as an army, especially for Kruleboyz. The changes are so restrictive.
The unit needs to be within 6" of the enemy that ends it's charge, and now each model needs to be within 6" to shoot as well. No more playing footsies and being just barely in with the unit, the positioning is much harder now.
And this change does not matter one damn bit for Seraphon and Kharadron Overlords, the two armies that abused Unleash Hell to make their already powerful army even stronger. They're untouched by this, while armies that needed it to keep up get pummeled by it.
Seraphon, your skinks and salamanders shooting mortals everywhere were the ones being charged at anyways. KO, your dwarf-laden boats are the only things to charge at all, so, you're still eating the full Unleash Hell. This doesn't touch them. This sucks.
