What do you do with your outdated codexes and sourcebooks?
I try to sell them or give them away
I hoard them, but haven't read them in a while
I keep them and sometimes re-read them
I still use them, because I play an older edition
I'm too new to the hobby to have any old codexes

Well, I sell them before becoming outdated.
Its time to sell the 9th ed SM codex now.

Basically my 1-3rd edition books are going to follow me the rest of my life and probably line my coffin at this rate.

Everything since however is pretty disposable and can be sold or given away.

Oh, I definielty hoard them, but i am a bit of a bibliophile.

I also re-read them fairly regularly (for example, last weekend I was having a bit of fun reading and making lists out of the 3rd ed dark eldar codex (version 2.0 with the extra wargear) just for old times sake...also i was sobering up after a darts tournament.

I've always liked seeing a well ordered line of codexes (codicies?) on my bookshelf (in edition order obviously).

There is a question: should books be organized by edition first, then by rules/codex, or should all books be grouped by type first?

So do you have a row or core books, followed by a row of marine codexes, followed by a row of eldar codexes? Or all the RT stuff together, followed by all the 2nd, etc, etc…. I can see the pros/cons to both, but personally organize the later.

I go by the former, when I read old codexes it is because I am interested in how Space Marines or Necrons worked or how their lore was changed through editions, I am not interested in the differences between Space Wolves and Chaos Space Marines in 3rd edition.
