Surely one could just as easily question whether it's ethical to sanction Russian companies for the crimes of their nation's leader?
I can't imagine Artel is an essential component of the current war effort. Though it might produce better quality tanks...
Yeah... If I was in a position where I was ready to make that order, I probably would go ahead and place it. As it stands, it'll be a while before I can throw more money at hobby, and my purchases are planned out pretty far in advance- so it' a moot point for me.

...yes? The general reason for such sanctions is to disrupt the economy as a whole enough to generate dissent amongst the citizenry, though it would definitely be more effective if certain European nations could wean themselves off the teat of Russian fossil fuels.
So while Artel does make some very nice sculpts, and there are several I wouldn't mind picking up, I know I won't be touching them with an eleven-foot Pole* until the mess over there is resolved.

GW Grotesques are not sold in sets of 3. Haven't been for at least 6 years. Theoretically I suppose it's possible that they package the models differently in the UK? But I'm pretty sure no matter where you live, you pay per grotesque.
The Artel knock offs ARE for sure sold in a sets of 3.
Now shipping is an issue for sure, and I don't know what international shipping is like for someone who lives in the UK. It might get you to a break even point if it's really bad- I've also heard people talk about import taxes and stuff too, so maybe?
But with a strict price comparison, the Artel product is half the price... And a better sculpt, and since both are resin anyway, that scores GW no extra points.
Irrelevant now anyway- just tried to look the Groteques up on GW using GBP because I was curious and they're gone now. I'm hoping these guys and Mandrakes get plastics.
Artel is $25 shipping and $44.99 for the grots, $70 total converts to ~£55. From the UK they're £17 each so £51 for 3 with free shipping. Automatically Appended Next Post:
Isn't Artel a Russian company? If so I'd think even paying for the minis would be a hurdle atm.
Or is there more than one Artel?
Not sure tbh, followed link, it was priced in USD with hefty shipping so assumed US.

So you're happy to pay 4 quid less for 3 monopose, identically posed minis made from a terrible material over dropping a slightly insignificant amount more for 3 differently posed ones with multiple head and weapon options? M'kay...

Not what I said at all, I pointed out they weren't "cheaper" they also come with the extra issues of international shipping and if anyone kicks off at 3rd party models at events etc.
