Well, depends if they want to do anything with the Gretchin beyond being Point Fillas. Orks were never my cup of tea, besides Space Crusade, so I don't know if there is a demand for a Gretchin-only faction. I'll let the Ork players answer that one.

Cool idea, throw in Grot tanks, Grot snipers, Grot megatanks, Grot psykers, snotlings... Yeah, would be fun, but I think that's even further down the line than Codex: Kroot

Edit: something's wrong with the quotes here but I can't figure it out...

The one good thing about orks is that we get model releases in every edition.

So two or three grot units wouldn't be out of question.

I seriously doubt though that we will get another box set after getting speed freeks, beast snaggas, kill team and Combat Patrol: AOBR 2.0 within just a few years.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks do not think that purple makes them harder to see. They do think that camouflage does however, without knowing why.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

It's because the spoiler tag is breaking it.

Basically, the end-quote tag being outside of the spoiler was making the forum think that Samus' post was finished in what RacerGuy was quoting.

Are you posting while drunk, while high, or what?

June 2022 was last month - there was no Warhammer 40,000 BRB released in June 2022.

Continuing with the theme of easily checked factual errors, general release for the 8th ed SOB 'dex was January 2020, after the limited army box dropped in Nov 2019. Their 9th ed book dropped in June 2021.

9th edition launched in July 2020, which is why - 2 years into the edition - we're starting to see talk about what will happen assuming 10th edition drops next summer.

While elements of the 8th SoB 'dex may have been designed with 9th in mind, there are gaping holes that prevent it being seen as the first true 9th book - that honour goes to Necrons & Space Marines, both released on the same day in October 2020.

I fail to see any rage, you were simply corrected. See, this is not about raging or agreement/disagreement. You can not agree or disagree with facts. You either accept them or live in denial. For some odd reasons you choose the latter.

Play HH then, or do a Badab War campaign? GW has covered you there. Again: for "regular" 40K there never was a set like this.

Ultramarines and Tyranids is my vote.

Someone suggested Dark Eldar, but that would require GW to care about them.

Let's be honest, the real answer is what GW is really craving:

Full Primaris Space Marines vs Full Primaris Space Marines.

We don't need those other pesky factions. Just sell more loyalist space marines and fight those other loyalist space marines

Uhhuh. Sob codex 9th ed came about year after 9e and it's been yeai by now. Not 1 month like you claim...

And the "developed 9th ed in mind"...yea so well developed literally had useless special rules thanks to 9e, lacked 9e rules and was among first factions to get 9e book. Real well designed. Or it was marketing speech(sells better than say new edition comes soon invalidating parts of this and barely year later new book) and you ate it hook and rope.

Oh yeah definitely. I don't trust that at all.
But when discussing that post, one of the people who leaked much of the Tyranid codex earlier this year commented that the starter box being nids vs marines is true at least.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

generic space marines (specifically ultramarines in box art) vs chaos space marines (kind of) in the form of the new world eaters codex and fighting angron.

Possibly world eaters vs dark angels as angron returns and the lion is reintroduced for a double primarch release for maximum model sales

I would fall off my chair if they put a primarch, loyalist or traitor, in a box set for a new edition. GW can charge premium Dollar for selling them as stand alone models.

i doubt the primarchs would be in the boxset. more a start collecting of the 2 armies and beside the codex a nice centerpiece primarch for both. space marines all primaris of course and csm world eaters all different to insure they cannot be used as the same army without lots of conversion work most newbies will be incapable of. then maybe a limited run with some of the worst selling models in each faction paywalling the primarch with those other boxes to push more plastic. think $200 starter set and 2 limited run $120 boxes that have 1 primarch in each plus 2 units of something else

I really think that GW is pushing towards a Bobby G and Team Bellasaurius forming a "heretical" group of New School. Where they dicate full Primaris, and try to abolish the church of the Imperium. Hilarity ensues.

Wouldn't surprise me. Rowboat Girlyman is an empire builder by nature. Also has precedent with Imperium Secundus in HH.

While NuMarines vs. OldMarines sounds hilarious - and you could make a reasonable case for an upcoming schism like this in the actual background - this would also mean new sculpts for OldMarines. So the whole idea is dead on arrival, not going to happen.

Well it will be the starter set factions, one of which will be SM. The first two independent codexes are far more up in the air. My vote goes to Guard, having ignored Guard for most of 9th GW decides to 'reward' Guard players with a second book within 10 months. That will be swiftly followed by a surprise release of the Slann so we can tick off another fantasy race.

Disagree. I think they'll use old tactical squad sprues lying around to fill out the Firstborn side of the package, thus enabling them to wind up production and push the Primaris models exclusively in the future. Thus they only need new Primaris sculpts. AND it'll offer an opportunity to split the codex into Firstborn and Primaris versions, doubling the value of the Space Marine IP.

C'mon, you don't think GW would do that?

What if it's Admech vs Space Marines. Cawl unviels his hand, he's programmed the Primaris to have a fail safe that causes them to respond to his command alone. It takes all the Old Marines, and Dante, to protect Terra from the Titans, Knights, and Skitarii of the Admech. I'd pay for the BRB and base starter box just to see Admech turn heel. No wait, DARK ADMECH

Don't try to foist that overgrown Warp-Squirrel on us perfectly reasonable traitors. We already have a hard enough time trying to get rid of Abaddon since the writers keep trying to insist that his stupid topknot is cool and that the Black Legion is the greatest threat to the Imperium (HAH).

The Adeptus Mechanicus deserves better than Cawl as a named character. He's not even the High Lord of Mars. They've had a lot more entertaining and likable characters in lore that could be used - even in the video game.

Hey, he's obviously a mustache twirling traitor with a perpetual clock above his head that reads "Countdown until I betray you". He's obviously 1-2 books away from betraying everyone for personal gain. Given that he basically checks off every possible evil guy trope in existence, You get to keep him. And Abby's stupid manbun. At least you guys still have 2-3 primarchs. We have Bobby, and that's it.

That would be amazing plot, which is why they'd never do it.

I dunno, they've been pretty heavily "implying" that Cawl is forcing the Rubicon on all the chapters, to try and get 100% change over. When Dante outright refuses the Inferior Qualit (forget the name) gets upset. I wouldn't be surprised to see Cawl get denounced by someone for "tech heresy" and he does his three stooges Curly thing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IrWhjzAVOo

And runs off to Mars, and activates the Primaris Defection plan. Bobby G is lumped in, because it was kinda his idea, and the Custodes, The GK, the SoB, and the BA all go to war with the UM, the IH (Because they are 90% Admech anyway) and the New Dark Admech. The final chapter is Cawl giving all the new Primaris Traitor Geneseed to Fabius Bile! Meanwhile, the Dark Angels Re-awaken the Lion, who learns that the key for saving the Emperor rests in the tears of one man. SLY MARBO. End scene.
