Includes a traitor guard datasheet for CSM too

Yup. Aaaannnddd......they gave them the CULTISTS keyword. So, absolutely no chance of building anything close to a R&H/LatD style army with them. Whelp, I guess the dumbster fire that is the 9th edition CSM codex still continues to burn......

They also gave them the "Traitor Guardsman" keyword.

What's your point? That them having the "Cultists" keyword and them benefitting from auras and stratagems is somehow a bad thing?

Mere Mortals. You know, the rule that says you can't have more CULTIST units than CORE HERETIC ASTARTES units? And thus prevents building an army comprised of solely the mortal followers of Chaos?

CORE Infantry. Not just CORE!
Kan probably thinks it's the coolest fluffiest codex ever though

Indeed. It annoys the hell out of me more because they really pushed CULTIST units in the lead up to the release and then gave us an HQ which can't be a warlord and needs a squad of CORE INFANTRY lurking somewhere to allow you to field it.

Ok i think this is good news. I have the GW 40k army builder app, and they just updated the app with the new kill team units. So to answer the questions about the Rogue Trader army -

The Starstriders codex is now in valid and so are the RT data cards from the Warzone book. The Stratagems and Warlord traits from the Warzone book are still valid.

The App allows for a Navis Imperialis detachment/army list. You will need to take a Inquisitor as your required HQ choice, but the Rogue Trader can be your warlord. As far as taxes go, i work with this one.

With the loss of the Warrant of Trade rule the Navis Imperialis will not have access to transports, so that sucks. We may be able to make up for it with the Blackstone monsters like the Ambull, Zoat and Borewyrms. Since these monsters are unaligned, they will not affect the Battle Forge of the detachment. Fluff wise, Zoat Terror Squads used to be part of the Rogue Trader's Crew in a RT era army list.

Right now it looks like the Navy may need to run a IG detachment to run support with mobile infantry and/or heavy support.

As I explained earlier, even WITH the Warrant of Trade rule, you still can't have any vehicles in a Navis only army, army because there ARE no vehicles in the Navis list.

Same was true of RT lists from Octarius.

Same still is true with Inquisition units.

Both Authority of the Inquisition and Warrant of Trade were rules that only ever worked for Inquisition or RT units added to another army as Agents of the Imperium because neither RT nor Inquisition lists have any vehicles in them. It KILLS me that GW can't see this and clean up the wording of these rules to allow the armies not just to RIDE vehicles, but to actually include them in dedicated detachments.

I added transports via other detachments.

I was looking a the Aux Support Detachment to get a Transports like Rhinos, Chimera, or the Taurox.

Some vehicles like Valkeries Squadren and Land Raiders would likely be better choices before the lose of the Warrant of Trade.

The Inquisition and Navy will kind of require a creative use of the Detachments to ballance them out.

Why do you think this is a mistake to "clean up" and not a deliberate decision? These units are clearly meant to be support for real armies, not independent forces.

The last poster has a point and that is the way it looks like right now.

To be honest, Inquisitors can be a full army if GW puts Stormtroopers, Death Cult, archo-flagilents and Crusaders back in to the list like they were in 3rd. Give the acolytes/ henchmen a single heavy weapon option. Along with Rhino, Chimera and Valkarie transports options. This would become a full army fairly quickly and no real change would be needed to be made to the game or model lines.

The Navy would be harder. The Officer from the Fleet and Valkarie Squadrens would make sence additions to the navy list. Rogue Traders are known for using Mercenaries, human and xenos alike, so adding existing kits like the Kroot, Zoat, and Ambull would not be out of character for a Rogue Trader army. Also Tech-Priests and Severitors would also not be out of place in a navy army and would provide nessissary fire support to a naval force.
