you can certainly fit them, though they will take up a lot more space than most gamers are used to - especially when you consider how many such houses make up a typical street.

works well with removable roof and floor sections to be able to fight inside them with internal walls also at least marked out even if not actually there

made a "small farm house" a few years back, sadly wreaked in a house move, was about 2' square and quite playable in a skirmish scale game

starts to get daft when you have rooms some weapons cannot shoot from one side of to the other though

terrain is better when the density is higher though

5" is exactly how wide the roads were on the Realm of Battle urban gameboard released by GW (plus pavements), and I think earlier released roads are a similar width based on their size relative to tanks.

Isn't that nearly 40m square? That is a fairly large farmhouse IMO, considerably bigger than any of the farmhouses in the village I grew up in.

wasn't a full square, more of a T shape, with a further tower stuck on one corner for %REASONS%, worked quite nicely though

have that La Haye Sante farmhouse to build at some point, though given its been a kit for about three years on a shelf there is no rush

Fair enough. The farmhouses where I grew up are rectangular. If you plugged two together in an L shape it might be approaching that size. I don't think any are longer than 30m though.
