When a Crimson Fist dies, his battle brothers cut their palms and run them through Brother Quiff’s hair to ensure the roots never show in his red stripes.
Primaris was ready to roll in the 37th Millennium, but Belisarius Cawl insisted on delaying the project until he was absolutely certain none of the bio-upgrades would interfere with Brother Quiff’s hair in any way.
When the Great Rift threatened Rynn’s World, the decisive factor in delaying the daemonic onslaught long enough for Bobby G to arrive with reinforcements was the Slaaneshi daemons refusing to attack Brother Quiff, even while he was wholesale slaughtering them, since they couldn’t believe anyone that gorgeous wasn’t on their side.
The hero of Rynn's World, the man they call Quiff.

My entry is nearly finished. Tomorrow morning, after the glue is dry, I'll apply some matte varnish over the flock to seal it, and then take some photos in the old photo booth.
Painting total as of 3429/2024: 56 plus a Deva King statue
Painting total as of 12/31/2024: 107 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain and two walkers and a quad mech and five giants

My total since August 2022 is... 10 competed minis and lots of half finished stuff :(
In an online meeting not needing the camera on so gotten the Lieutenant ready for priming, going to assemble the pieces after painting apart from the body which will be merged as soon as I done the legs and the back of the tabard.
Cheers!

Looks good, ShadowsAndDust. I wonder if Dante wouldn't photograph better against a darker background, though.
I've been working on a prototype Samurai Marine, mostly just to see if my ideas will work.
Spoiler:
I started with the kabuto. First, I added the hachi, or cabasset, as it is sometimes translated:
Then, the shikoro, the armored skirt which protects the neck:
This takes a long time, as each "layer" has to harden before I can add the next. There may be a faster way, but I have four helmets done at this point, so that experiment is pushed back for now. Next, the maedate and fukigaeshi:
The maedate is purely decorative, and not all helmets had them. The fukigaeshi on early kabuto were much, much larger, but by the Warring States period, which I'm using as the basis for this project, they had shrunk down to the size you see here.
I apparently didn't take any photos of the chest pieces. I pulled out the rotary tool and grounded off the eagles and skulls and whatnot. Two of them I left smooth, and on two others I sculpted on some decorative lacing. After gluing the torso to the legs, I added the kusazuri, or armored skirt:
In previous interations, I just glued the plastic directly to the model, but this time I added some lacing to show how the kusazuri are suspended trom the do, as well as add some movement by changing the angle at which they hang.
After taking these photos, I did some work on the arms, and added a scabbard and obi (belt). I hope I can have those parts ready to share tonight. This first guy is taking a long time, but the next few should go faster now that I have a sense of what I need to do.

Wow, people are finishing with amazing pieces already and I haven't even started. The current plan is to paint up all my remaining Dark Angels with plasma cannons from Dark Vengence, but I'm missing a few pieces and having trouble finding my molds for them. So I may end up changing.
What a fun model. I really like the cape and the colors you've worked in there. I haven't started my entry yet, but I might have to steal the idea and try something like it. Very inspiring.
I do have some Marines ready to go, but am mostly working right now on Tau stuff for an upcoming game.
Time will tell.

I hope you don't mind, but Brother Quiff has swept me so off my feet that I now decided to paint my one off Space Marine as a Crimson Fists! He is ready to die to provide the dye
