How does it feel to be beta testers, where you pay instead of get paid, for a project that we all know will be scrapped in less than three years, and any lessons learned from the project will be thrown out instead of being used to improve the next iteration of the project?
it feels better than 4th through 7th, where we were doing the exact same thing but each iteration was separated by a decade.

I look at complaints like this and I remember that there were armies using 4th edition codices in 6th edition and I just laugh.
Felt like I was getting a finished codex and stable product for $20 rather than an unfinished and soon-obsolete one for $50 though.

Tbf the hardbacks started around 6th ed I think. That's when I began to roll my eyes. Well, that and Centurions.

Sure if you were lucky one with op codex of edition. Rest looked at their beta test codex and waited for next decade

With AdMech, sadly, the solution to the biggest issue centered around the Cult stuff(which has been an issue since DAY FRICKING ONE) is continually ignored.

We never would have gotten to this point if the unit pointed, statted, and lorewise treated as chaff were sold like it: the Electropriests. They should have been sold in packs of 10.

Real talk though, this errata was kinda worthless. I don't know who was the lead on the book, but boy howdy did they fumble it hard. Sydonian Dragoons get separate datasheets but not Onagers? Not stiltman? GSC get to pull a whole other codex's roster into a lone detachment but no Knight detachment for AdMech? Certain factions get their "special weapons" bumped down into being a generic catch-all, but we can't do that for the Plasma Caliver & Arc Rifle to be a generic "Archaeotech Weapon"?

Your axe to grind against Brood Brothers continues to show, but that observation aside?

For factions like SM, Astra Militarum, Adeptus Mechanicus, SW and DA, this was definitely a consequential set of changes. For one thing, Mechanicus got a complete rebalance, and Astra Militarum got a significant change to their currently sole Detachment Rule. As someone who didn't spam artillery, that cancer has been put paid to.

SW also got a rebalance that, IMO, made their Detachment worth taking. DA got much-needed buffs.

Unsurprisingly real game results prove your claim to be the worthless one. Admech are again winning games already

Saying that it's getting to put basically a whole second codex into the book in a single detachment isn't "an axe to grind". It's a factual statement.

That you seem to dislike it being described for what it is strikes me as strange.

For factions like SM, Astra Militarum, Adeptus Mechanicus, SW and DA, this was definitely a consequential set of changes. For one thing, Mechanicus got a complete rebalance,

They got the same thing that they did in the two most abused Formations(War Convocation and the Big Bundle Formation) of the past:
They simply threw Doctrina Imperatives onto the Cult Mechanicus units that they hadn't already thrown it on.

They didn't get any of the things that actually would have addressed problems myself and many other AdMech players likely had with the book. I know that I for a fact have an abundance of Onagers because they were able to be squadroned. As a result, the only Onagers seen on the field now are whatever has the best stats.
Solution? Additional Onager datasheets, with rules tied to that specific variant. They did it for the Sydonian Dragoons to try to push out the Jezzail.

Problem: The Skitarii leaders are limited to 3 per, no alternate datasheets.
Solution? Alternate datasheets.

It sure was, but the problem still remains that the bloody Combat Patrol has better and more interesting rules than the actual Army Rules or the dull and uninteresting "Combined Regiment" whose rules are leaned more towards artillery. "Patrol Squads"(currently only seen on the Field Ordnance Batteries in the Combat Patrol) is legitimately something that would go a long way towards creating a more dynamic army rule for Guard than bloody Orders ever has, while also opening up something that people keep clamoring for:
A return of the "Platoon" system.

They were winning games before?

The claim continually that I saw was that it was boring and basically limited to specific detachments with specific units and that lists began to look very same-y.

Yeah with a 50/50 chance of it being crap, in which case enjoy your "stable product" for the next 10 years. CSM players having no choice but to play their absolute dogwater 4th edition CSM codex into 6th edition Space Marine armies probably didn't feel like they had a very good product lol.

League of Legends gets balance patches literally every 2 weeks. I'm not saying that anyone has to prefer this rapid fire style of balancing but to call it beta testing is silly. This is the reality of what game design looks like when you don't want to have armies languishing for years.

The only problem is that the rules should be free and available online.
