Ninjon paints a model using only the paints found in these sets
EDIT: And a review from Stahly

I am actually impressed by these and will be picking up both sets for sure.
Funny, here I thought I'd never bother with Army Painter products

I hadn't really had much to do with them beyond the wet palette, until buying the complete set of speed paints (2.0, obviously). I have to say that I have been really pleased with the purchase.
What is a bit odd is that there is no clear info on their site as on which acrylic thinners work optimally for which of their paint lines. I'd appreciate more clarity on the topic.
I suppose I'll at least need their airbrush medium and wash mediums, hopefully the airbrush medium will also work for thinning these Blanche paints when brush painting..
That grayscale triad set also seems worth looking into. GW doesnt even offer neutral grayscale paints AFAIK (they always tint their greays a hair into blue/green etc), and I've been after a true grayscale set for some time

Yeah, these colors actually look pretty good and fairly unique for the most part, seems a good pickup. What irks me though is that it breaks the double-triad thing they had going with the fanatics line by adding in additional shades, etc.

It looks like Corvus Belli is now working with Army Painter:

I thought these new ones just extended the triads at the lower end with darker colors?

indeed. They add new, previously unavailable, darker tones to the pallette.
For someone who constantly struggles finding "dark" enough shades for some of my colours, this set is a welcome addition to the toolbox

Just picked up both sets. The bottles come with mixing balls, which was a nice bonus.
I have yet to test out the paints on actual minis, but first impressions are super positive. The metallics especially look brill, nice and dark while still reading as gunmetal and gold. The off white also reads quite white as well, which isnt all too common when it comes to off whites. All in all, both sets get the thumbs up from me.
The included print material was a let down however. Nothing specific about these paint sets, just a generic Army Painter booklet on both sets. And the Jon Blanche artwork print on both sets was identical as well. Included QR code just lead to Army Painter's web page.

I was also impressed by the build of the bottles themselves. They're not this thin plastic like most droppers I've had, the plastic feels more robust/substantial somehow.
Army Painter has really stepped up their game it seems.
Oh, by the way, I finally figured out that "Warpaints Fanatic Effects: Warpaints Stabilizer" is what Army painter calls their acrylic thinner. Going to go to the LGS to get me some of that now as a matter of fact. They should have included a bottle in the paint set tbh, but I guess wargaming has different expectations than scale modelling..
There's three things I'll never go back to, 1) Not using an airbrush whenever its preferable to brush painting 2) Not using proper thinners for my paints 3) Not using solvent-based washes and weathering effects (I simply find them superior to acrylics)

Picked mine up today. There's a several colors I'm quite impressed with (Blanched Berry, Emperor Gold, Ruddy Tera). Grim Rust also looks interesting, I like the subtle texture.
Really disappointed in Heavy Metal, it's just a regular Gun Metal color, I was hoping for something darker. Grimdark Shadow and Vodoo Shade I'm also unsure on, but those I'll have to try on a model.
The bottles are sadly the same crap as the new valejo paints that leaks like crazy into the cap.

If you want darker than Heavy Metal, there's "Death Metal", which I bought yesterday while I was buying the thinners. Its darker than Heavy Metal, but already reads almost like black so YMMV, depends on how dark you want your metals I guess..
The pots are actually quite similar to AK 3rd Gen, the tip is maybe a bit bigger..? Not sure about the leaks, might just be overfilled at the factory. In any case, you will not want to store these in their boxes, best to store these pots upright at all times..
