I got the book with the free mini, sending it back I'm not impressed. GW books are very bad now compared to the good old days. I wish I could buy reprints of all the ones I sold over the years, I don't understand why they won't do that it's not like they wouldn't sell.

I haven't seen it. What's wrong with it?

It's small and due to the mini it has an unconventional binding that I dislike a lot and I don't value the mini much at all so it detracts from the book imo.

That's DK, not GW; they do the same format with the Lego books they sell.

Well it sucks and so does current year GW publishing.

I received the book today and I'm not happy with it at all. I'm so disappointed.

Cons:
Half the book is just a cardboard box glued to the front cover that makes reading it very uncomfortable. I worry about its binding. I can't be bothered even to take the figure out of the box, because I worry it just would become even more uncomfortable to read.

I'm disappointed that it only spotlights the characters that have games workshop figures, which makes this feel more like a shopping catalog that I had to pay for. I'm disappointed that most of the primarchs that I have joytoy figures of isn't even featured. To vent, I been reading amazon reviews with many people feeling the same way.

The pros: great hardcover feel, good art of the figures, great description of the characters. Guess I'll keep it as a collectors item

I've seen one copy in two different stores, and flipped through one. It's practically a Black Library version of the Lego books(Black Library meaning 'this is Abbadon the Despoiler. He is a Space Marine is in these books').

It's nice they added a model, but I'm beginning to think the book is an excuse to get rid of every Lt Titus model and nothing more.

So, the master plan is for everyone to own a Lt. Titus model, so the GeeDubs can say, "Everyone either has or has part of an Ultramarine army." ?

Not got the book but having had a look at some reviews what's included, it really does seem a shame.

For an IP that's been around for so long, with so many fantastic characters, what they chose to include looks so disappointing. It could have been a celebration of all that history of the setting, but instead it's basically a catalogue and even then it's very clear which they consider important or not with how little attention some of the characters get.

Ugh, The cardboard box-in-book with promo item is such a kid thing. OK for Lego books aimed at kids, but crap for adult collectors.

The thing is that DK can do a great book, it probably just depends what the IP holder wants to do.
