The purple looks great and very clean. I certainly can’t see any brush marks in the pics. The Daemon Prince looks great too

Hell yeah, John, great tonks. I've always loved the aesthetic of CSM with daemons and mutants running alongside neatly armored tanks and power armored dudes.

Great colourscheme, execution, and output as usual mate. Any more to come?

Yeah, it’s really paying off and 2-5hrs is still rapid and highly effective! I’m actually part way through some Necrons that borrowed heavily from your scheme from a few years back

Silver + Contrast Paint is basically the ultimate solution for Necrons.

Amen to that.

This is, emphatically, why I will continue suggesting nuking Guard and starting over again. It's a legacy army that needs to be rebooted with a new focal point.

Confirmation of why no-one should listen to Kanluwen when it comes to the IG - he doesn't want the IG, he want's Kan's New Model Army...

Well, I'm out of Christmas vacation, but I got one last unit done.

It's the Mutalith Vortex Beast!

Unlike my Daemon Prince, I broke out the drybrush for the skin. This is a big boy, and the deep purple actually works well with drybrushing, provided you hit the base color with Druuchi Violet first.

For my sanity's sake, I painted this in 3 parts - body, vortex and tentacles. It's far to spiky and fiddly to do otherwise.

Anyways, I'm up to 1725pts, not quite the 2000pts I was hoping to get done, but I'm going to slow down on this army, if not outright stop. I may do some different minis for a while and come back to finish up to at least 2000, I do want to get another Rhino and the other Daemon Prince done at a bare minimum. The easy way would probably just be to do another 5 Scarab Occult Terminators and Ahriman, but we'll see.

They look incredible all together. Amazing effort putting that together in a Christmas Holiday period, it really would be a shame to not round it off to 2k points.

Wow - amazing army John, they look fantastic together. I just can’t believe how you managed to complete it over such a short period!

This is some industrial grade bull

The best I could match to was GW's Fulgurite Copper. At least I had the Rubrics, Sorcerers, SOCs and Sekhetars basecoated with old Vallejo Bright Bronze. Since it's shinier, I kept my reserves of the original to use for drybrushing highlights after washes.

Seriously Vallejo, did you even try? The irony is that I could have done the whole army in the new Bright Bronze color and it would have been fine, just thinned my wash down some more, but I find this out after 75% of the airbrushing is done...

Had the same problem when the new paint came out from Vallejo. I moved on from the line and trying other paint lines over the past few years.
