Frostgrave

I can't believe I forgot about Frostgrave.

It provided pretty simple mechanics for the stuff that doesn't need to be complicated, and just flows really well.

Another +1 for Frostgrave, and also Stargrave which is equally brilliant.

X Wing V1 was a game of wonder, until the rules bloat and the constant TLT Y Wing spam (insert foul combo of month) made it a bit dull. As a friend said "if I play a game called X Wing, I want the X wing to stand a chance of winning!"

Yes, Frostgrave is great. The wacky scenarios and the random encounters are amazing. Not perfect (a bit too light for me), but what it does it does best.
