Like I said, you could make a case that that is indeed the case, and like I said, without showing you the actual printings it's hard to show one otherwise. There are differences, but due to the way they are handled by the design team, they are unintended and fixed over time. Those that remain...well, those are your case.

It doesn't matter if it was unintentional or not. It still differs from the English version.

No, nothing like that; if something is censored, direct references to the Nazi party (names and the swastika, usually) are edited out and replaced by other iconography and names. Leaving things like Warhammer 40k art and miniatures completely uncensored.

Infamous Example: In Castle Wolfenstein you fight nazi's (in the original anyway). In the german version, they no longer have swastikas in the game and the nazi's have become the *sigh* evil wolf cult . Otherwise, no change at all, they still look like german soldiers from the war and everything.

Tried Orks, WH, Chaos...got a 404. My thinking is that they're under construction as yet.

So here's a question for YMTC: Is a FAQ official when it is up on the site (as in, you can type in the URL and get it) or is it only official when there is an actual link to the FAQ from the GW rules pages?

I'd say, if you want to be a sickler, its only official once its been linked from the 'shrine' page.
However, this is probably a rare case where the incomplete WIP FAQ gives us insight into the current 'intent' of GW.

Use it, but continue to recheck it as its bound to be updated/changed before its 'officially' linked.


Until its linked, I'd not use it in a pure RAW argument, however you can use its existance to shelve any relevant RAW arguments until it IS linked.

Holy F*^$%#g Sh!t! The Land speeder one is a surprise, over 12" means that deep striking land speeders can't shoot the turn they arrive, well maybe people will start complaining less about them now.

The FAQ is a bit short. I thought it would cover a page at least. (SM and Tau -- I haven't looked at Nid.)

Yes, they're dead now. But they were there, I saw them. So did lots of other people.

Obviously they were a cock-up by some GW webmaster who will now get his wrist slapped.

I am very happy that deepstriking 'speeders can't shoot now, but not so happy about the clarification of the Synapse instakill protection (ie doesn't work on weapons with S > 2x target's toughness). At least the dakkafex will be officially legal, and you can take a twinlinked barbed strangler on a Warrior.

Why would you want to save FAQs that may or may not end up being officially posted?

There is obviously some reason that GW hasn't posted these FAQs up on the rest of their sites.

Why not just wait until something gets officially posted and then start worrying about them?

Eh, I'd like 'em just as a reference.

I know they're not official and in no way binding, but I find them interesting and they should be a good guide for house/tournament rulings.


Until the official ones are out anyway...
