I'm also working on some Cadian Rough Riders mounted on Warbikes. For the explosive lances I am using Bretonnian Knight lances from the old Warhammer boxed set (I have five that I can use), attached to either a grenade launcher or laspistol right arm from the Cadian Shock Troopers sprue. To represent the 'explosive' charge I glued two grenades from the Cadian sprue just below the tip of the lance. Unfortunately you can't see the tip in this photo and it's blurry as anything, but it gives you an idea.
I really like this thing and I've got plenty of spare Leman Russ treads. I think I might try to scratch build one.
I have 10 Hasslefree miniatures jumppacks (bottom of the page). They're a bit too small for Marines, but would fit on a Tau FW or Guardsman. I think I might use them for Roughriders instead of Vespid conversions. I ordered from them in January, the shipping was reasonable, and they had great communication through the whole transaction (I'm always paranoid about overseas orders).
BTW their miniatures are really nice (x2)too. I particularly like the Grymn space dwarves. More Sci-fi, less Space biker that GW.
I've seen the Reaper Exarch with both weapon options and both look like things you can buy in sex shops. A weapon should not look like this, not even a Emperor's Children weapon. -Symbio Joe
I too, am a fan of the Hasslefree Miniatures Grymn models. I have hundreds of them . For conversions, there are a whole selection of helmets, packs and weapons available on thier site as well. They are definitely worth a look.
As for the rough riders, Urban Mammoth sell alien mounts for the Junker and Veridian ranges in Urban War...In fact, they also sell troops with lances that could easily double as IG.
