Really Awesome Army Lem. Been following those pics over 2 forums and CMON trully inspiring. I have 2 quick questions for ya. been scouring the web for a rhino pattern like you suggested, but I've only been able to find an older model. Even in BWC. Any change you could post or PM a link?
Also, What Piece did you use for extending the shoulder area and the butt of your defilers? Looked like a black plastic cap on the pictures.

Must says your defilers really made the new Soul Grinder defiler seem quite bland to me

Lol don't say that. I LOVE the new soulgrinder sculpt, I wouldn't alter it very much at all!!

The pieces I use to extend the shoulders and such are bits off crushgear models, I don't know which one, but I do know its the wheels.

Goddamn it, it appears GW got em. I feel a little responsible, I was going to keep it on the quiet but got a bit blabby with where they came from...

Hey Thanks for the Reply. I'm happy to say that doing some more digging around they are still there. Just didn't look hard enough. Just make your yahoo search, and pay attention. Not like me
There are several variants for the sheets, so if you don't find the one you are looking for just keep browsing through the stuff.
Thanks again.

may i ask you where you got those templates from?

Well they came from BWC archives but they don't have them anymore. And I don't know where else to get them and I no longer have mine.

Lost templates makes me a sad panda...

It might have been housekeeping on BWC, but I did find some really awesome templates there yesteday. There are at least 3 different models for rhinos. Just navigate the files directory manually since the search feautre doesn't return any matches, but yeah They are in BWC

Does GW really have the legal right to go after templates?

Great work, Lem. What events will these beauties be showing up at?

Maybe CowCon in Rockhampton. Maybe if they can get me some dates, but it's looking badly for them turning up to them now since I'm planned well into April and CowCon was supposed to be march sometime....

Yup, I went to BWC to check on the Rhino templates (was looking for some Chimera templates myself) and though it took some searching, they're still there.

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

Could you possibly provide us with some links to those templates?

Hey Master. Go to yahoo groups an do a search for bwc group. Then you can send them a request to join etc.

Well, I've found a pic that should work well for my baneblade. I'll have a play around with it and see if I might be able to work it.

Where did you find that beauty?

This will make one hell of a stand in for a baneblade. Are you thinking a turret where the dome with the 4 on it is? I can see a demolisher cannon coming out of either the very front or one compartment up between the 'lascannons'.

Just ridiculous. And awesome. And I can't wait.

Better get busy X, I think I already hear Lemm's extra spidery, extra stompy baneblade on its way!

when are words like spidery and stompy going to get into the dictionary? they should be.

Lem, you should do a possessed squad done up like spiders. It would keep with your many-legged vehicular scheme.

Hey there Lem. Thats a great idea I think it'll look awesome as a more demonic construct. I think that you could balance a bit more how its heaviness (form wise) relates to weaponry. I just think the image is a little flimsy on the attack power look. I think if you could do something like your big cannon arms on your defilers it would look more balanced. Looking forward to it.

PS.
I actually started A defiler based on your designs. Hope you don't mind I was thinking of posting the process pics to get some feedback.

Where in the name of the Emperor's left nut did you get that pic from?

I'd say that building that monster wouldn't be realistic, but I doubt you'll listen... plus, having seen the other pieces of art you've created in this thread, I'm guessing this would be a walk in the park for you!

I think the modding and custom work you do is amazing! I would like to start doing some basic modding and custom stuff myself, but I have a few questions about the materials you use.

1) what size plasti-card do you use?
2) what size guitar string do you find works the best?
3) where did you get you amazing skillz at?

Keep up the great work!

Not really. This one will take some work.

1) what size plasti-card do you use?
2) what size guitar string do you find works the best?
3) where did you get you amazing skillz at?

Well...

1) Hardly any at all - actually I don't have any proper sheet styrene, I have polycarbonate, which is roughly 3/4 of a mm, cardboard which is only slightly thinner, ice cream container plastic and balsa wood...
2) Guitar string of all sizes is useful, depending on what you are doing. I am using anything from 009 to 072 bass strings, just depends on what looks best - I play guitar and bass so I have plenty around
3) It all started with a twinkle in my daddys eye many many many years ago...

So all of you know though, I haven't done anything further on this army, but will be soon. I have a tourney to go to end of june and as it turns out I need to tweak my list - which will involve painting up some more models. They are only troops and termies but it'll be some progress all the same...and perhaps a display board if I get crazy enough...

As for where the pic came from - I found the pic over on CGNetworks, there's a lot of cool stuff over there.

Still more to come later guys I'm working on orks for the moment, coz I got sidetracked by bills to pay - so I'm making stuff to pay for stuff

I painted up a few more models in preparation for a tournament that these guys will be debuting at, I'll post some new pics one day

Once I've got my debts covered (by building and selling) I'll be back on the wagon!

Could you print a list of the building materials you are using for your walking vindicator? I would be very interested in knowing. It looks like thick card...

The walking vindi is mainly thick card, balsa and superglue to strengthen the stuff. Other materials are plastic bits and bobs, toothpicks, greenstuff and a couple of pens.

Not much to it materials wise!
