Thank you all. It has been a very long time since I last posted. I am working on my thesis which takes a great amount of time. So much work that I fell sick. :| I guess I won't make it for this semester. Anyway, to relax, I spend some time building the Imperial Strongpoint box with some other terrain pieces for the home table. Here are some pictures.

The box consists of 2 Imperial Bastion boxes and 3 Aegis Defense Line boxes. I also have an Imperial statue, an Imperial Aquila building and some Imperial aquila ground stuff. Everything was desprued, cleaned up and put together. The Rhino also got re-primed.

I didn't know that the Imperial Bastion only come with the icarus lascannon while the Aegis Defense Line only come with the quad-gun. To get a quad-gun on Imperial Bastion, you really need to get both. That is kindda stupid in my opinion.

I put Sicarius for scale comparison.

Leo have you done or thought of doing a tutorial on how you paint your deathwing?

I don't know!

Up butting one gun in either box is how they make their money. (GW I mean), I got the stongpoint set when it first came out, only have a bastion and the ageise lines done with the quad guns and lascanon, but normally just use the Fortreass of redemtion (which I got in the same year) and the defence lines...

@Lucazi: I don't think so although I have thought about it. I would want a write up with step by step pictures. I actually have some in the first step right now, maybe I should do that and put it on my painting group's blog.

@Hazzer: I wish I have the point and money for the Fortress too. I guess I will buy it one day given that it is such an iconic building for DA.

Thanks again for checking the thread guys.

Looks like you have a nice collection of terrain in the works. Fortress of Redemption is great and all but quite an investment for a building. Ill still probably buy one. Im just about out of DA stuff. By the way, kudos on the ancient Empire Greatswords. Mid 90's weren't they?

Yeah, those are my brother's. He doesn't use them so he is trying to get rid of them eventually. For now, they just stand around looking funny. Maybe I should paint them to be Death Cult Assassins

I am just going to leave these right here and go to bed. I haven't had a chance to paint for so long that I powered through these.

Some notable new things: many more non-helmet heads than normal so I have to force myself to improve on my head painting skill. All robes now have inner lining in golden yellow. I will need to revisit some earlier model to add that back. I do like this golden yellow and how they fit well with the black however.

Now that missiles have 3 possible options, I am painting these missile extra ammo mounts accordingly. Once the rule for flakk missiles are out, then I am set.

I am currently working on two other models that I think you guys will like. I have a chance to try out Vallejo Liquid Gold. And man, this thing is REALLY good. More to come.

Looking sharp, the gold inner lining rocks. Have you thought about swaps with IG heads? I see people using Catachan a lot.

@40FSU: I haven't thought of that, I need to go through quite a few heads that I have on my box. These two dudes just happen to have the same one :-). I should try some of the 3rd party head-swap bits.

I had a recent game in 6th edition. I brought lots of and lots of troops like how I like them . Here is a couple of pictures of the battle. You should notice the half-finished Wolf Guard in Terminator armours + Lysander count-as Arjac in there.

I have a bastion with quadgun, 3 Grey Hunter squads, 3 Long Fang squads with Razorbacks, 3 Wolfguard and Arjac. I also build out a Swift Claw bike squad lead by Wolf Priest and Wolf Lord on bikes.

It was a fun game. The most memorable thing was my Wolf Lord + Wolf Priest splits out and kill off some Orks. Then they took the charge from the Warboss + Nobs + a full-blown Deathwing Command Squad. The Wolf Priest took it and went down but my Wolf Lord stays in the challenge against a single thunder hammer and stormshield sergent. Nobody dies for 4 combat phases. :-) I won by objective however.

Those guys look really good together. I see you have more tanks and decided to paint the bastion bone? I wouldn't have thought of that. Looks interesting.

Fantastic choice of colors. The yellow and black are perfectly highlighted. Green rocks too. Battle damage on the helmet is great. You can really tell the extra time.

Lol, Hmmm a quartered scheme! :-) nicely done and the colours work well with the bone, kind of like 'warning, any closer and i'll brain you in the face with ma shield'

I love the subtle damage on the helmet it's just the right amount without going ott! well done dude!

Just found this thread, and caught myself up from page 1.

You're army is awesome, and it's been great to see how you have repainted a lot of models that you had previously. I am in the same boat, where I have a lot of models with various paint jobs and I know it's very frustrating to get them all painted in a uniform army. The progress you've made is quite an inspiration, and goes to show what you can accomplish by just getting down to business and doing it.

Also, your paint jobs rock.

@40kFSU: Thanks. I like that helmet bit of the command squad box a lot. It has lots of awesome bits.
@nerdfest09: I like the yellow on black color combination as well. It works well with the yellow hazard stripes I have on other models.
@racta: Thank you for checking. I went back from page 1 as well. It has been almost 9 months and I am almost done having a good 3000 points of painted stuff. But there is always more to paint.

I came into possession of another Stormraven. I am going to paint these up for my Blood Angel Death Company ally. I am thinking of 11 Death Company, 4 with Powerfist + boltgun, 5 with close combat and bolt pistol, 2 with close combat and infernus pistol. Lead by a Reclusiarch this 610 points of death bomb will bully most unis to death. Or so I hope.

I painted more of the kneeling captain. Still a bit more until finished but putting him next to my objective marker creates some instant narrative. :-)

It's good to be back. I am getting a new job soon so I should have a little more constancy in my posting time. My Dark Vengeance box is open and just sit there :|. I have a couple of models I need to finish before I get my hands on them.

What do you guys think I should paint first in the DV box? The limited edition chaplain?
