Picked "Quick Play Stronghold", and promptly ended up in my least favorite fight - i.e. the final storyline boss. I managed to stay upright right up until the end when everything starts to go nuts with constant blast waves on the ground. And then I got knocked out. The others beat the boss shortly afterwards, grabbed the loot that had spawned, and then they came over to respawn me. And after a few seconds of reviving me, they stopped for some reason. And then they started again. And then they stopped. And then they started again.
And then the instance timer ran out, and I didn't get any loot.
Since I could see at least one GM item in the item mix, I was a bit annoyed.
The problem is that if someone starts to revive you and gets interrupted, your respawn timer resets. So every time the other players interrupted their revival attempt, my respawn timer got knocked back to 30 seconds.
And there was nothing that I could do about this.

They've fixed it so the respawn timer doesn't reset in the next patch (next week).
Also, boss loot is auto-added to your inventory - so if you didn't ge tthe MW, it bugged.

I'm not a fan of the heart of rage fight either, I like a challenge but it's just kind of annoying to play. The other 2 strongholds are a lot more fun. I did a GM2 giant bug stronghold last night, and we somehow got a glitch at the part where you stand on the platform in the green circle and the scorpions keep coming up the ramp.. but for some reason none of them spawned. So we just stood around waiting for the chest to pop up.
Expanding my horizons now, dusted off my Storm last night. I have an orange and a purple component that both shorten my gear speeds by 20%, but also lessens damage too.. but I can pretty much just spam lightning all over the place with him.

I got Thunderbolt of Yvanna over the weekend.
Game completely changed. I have a hard time using any other weapon - not because it's so powerful, but because it's exactly the gun I want to play. Longish range, reasonably fast semi-auto. And best at stripping shields, because I love playing combo-Ranger!
It does mean I play my Col less, as it feels "wrong" on him.
But then last night a Legendary LMG dropped; +350% damage, -60% recoil, and +30% cooldown for R1. My Col loves that gun. Seems to outdamage Thunderbolt, even vs shields! (not that I let that stop me from using Thunderbolt more anyways.)
Read the patch notes - Rangers look like they got buffed a ton. Don't think we needed it, but I'll certainly take it.
I've played Ranger the most, but I'm still rocking 2 purple components. I can solo GM2 freeplay events, and rock GM2 contracts with him, though.

Whenever something like this happens, pop into Freeplay and then pop back out. Item should appear.

dunno, i never felt the ranger was strong/tough enugh to do its description, aka beeing the off tank, so in that regards the buffs was needed.
still not mutch to do in endgame sadly but spamming the 2 of 3 strongholds on gm1 to get a few MWs where moust are copys of the limited selection you have...

I usually do a mix of Contracts, Freeplay, and Strongholds - and it feels like there's a decent amount of content there.
I'd hate to just chain-run Strongholds. After 2 in a row, I want to do something else and come back later.
I find plenty of MWs in Contracts, and a decent amount in Freeplay.

well, i recive nothing, exept the mandatory 1 mw in purple contracts on gm1.
and when you are heading into gm1/2, you have 0 use for purple gear drops, only mw.
gonna try that new story mission replay thing tomorrow tough, see how the drops are there.

Looks like they cranked up the amount of MW drops, I got like 8 total in 3 games yesterday. 1 was the legendary mission, then a legendary contract, then a hive mine stronghold, all GM2. Seems like they really cranked up the stronghold difficulty or amount of monsters though... unless my group just wasn't as tough as some others I've gotten. But generally seemed to take a lot longer to kill some things, even when I can ice-lock them over and over with my voltaic dome.
Nice updated overall, I'd like to see them start adding some new story content though. Hope they do it soon.

I seemed to get more MW than normal yesterday, too - but I only played for ~30 minutes.
However, I was able to blow through 3 GM1 leg contracts in 30 minutes - that usually takes an hour-ish (including downtime between)
It felt like everything in GM1 died *way* too fast, to anybody in the party.
Plus, the whole five-hits-primes-acid plus combos-reset-my-missile makes Rangers OP now. I can just chain combo for as long as there are primed enemies - which gets silly.

The fix of the armor bug is helping to greatly alleviate people folding in GM1 in a few hits, which means they can put out a lot more firepower before having to dive for cover when their shields deplete.
My Storm for instance was roughly a wash in the damage output department due to the changes to its components, but the capacity to get more than a single cast off before needing to leg it changes the dynamic considerably.

Social justice gaming site Kotaku published probably their first real actual investigative journalism article this year today with a long behind the scenes expose on the development of Anthem. It basically reads like a copy paste of what happened with Andromeda. For the TL;DR crowd, it's yet another case of allegedly no real leadership resulting in several years wasted on shifting goals and unsuccessful attempts at making the square frostbite peg fit into the round multiplayer online rpg hole resulting in a rushed last 18 months of actual work with most of the lofty starting goals cut from the final product.

There are issues with it, but...
It's fun. It's a *lot* of fun. The gameplay works quite well, and aside from two specific items (the barriers that spontaneously appear during instances, and the rare instance progression bug) the game is a lot of fun to play. I played Final Fantasy XIV 1.0 (i.e. the release that caused Square-Enix to seriously consider cancelling a Final Fantasy game), and this is a *lot* better than that was.
There are other problems that aren't directly gameplay related (such as the "end of mission freeze" bug which basically forces you to skip the end of mission stuff), and due to those and the two aforementioned gameplay issues it's clear that the game isn't polished like it should be. But I'd still hesitate to call it "rushed".

in a way it is, and you can clearly see that during the lv1-30 playtrue.
i still dont know what the "anthem" is, nor why there was a battle with 3 titans during the opening act, nor do i understand why a race so smart that they have created mechsuits, live in a wild jungle instead of a sci/fi city.
the story is massivly rushed, and endgame content variation is severly lacking. general combat gameplay is however spot on.

On another topic...
What has everyone's luck been like with Elysian Caches? I'm not talking about what you got from them. I'm talking about how many you've been getting.
My first day, with the first instance I cleared, all four caches were opened. In the instances that I've run since then, I've been the only person in the group with a key. Now ordinarily I wouldn't make too much of a note of this. But with the way that Bioware set this up, there are roughly 160 items to be obtained over the course of forty days, and you can only earn one key per day.
I'm not sure I like the way that they've set this up.

I had a key, but ended a stronghold with the can't interact with anything bug (no revive, no door opening, no chest opening) so that was fun.

I did 1 stronghold and we opened all 4 chests, got a bunch of colossus and ranger parts, and a vinyl that doesn't show up on my list when I go to look for it.
Overall, it's a nice feature I guess but not worth grinding over. I'd rather see new missions and story content.

So far as I can tell, the list of drops in the Elysian Key section isn't interactive. I've got at least one of the vinyls from that list (I might have more, but I keep getting hit with the mission end screen bug so I never find out what I'm getting), and that vinyl isn't highlighted on the list of Elysian Key drops. It's on the list. But there's nothing on that list that signifies that I got it.

and in that regards, is the colossus MW armor nerf intensional or a massive bug?
logged in for the first time this morning in over a month and saw that MW collossus internal parts armor went from 10000 to 800 while purple is still at 2300.........

The game is really fun to play, but I haven't touched it in weeks. Little time and I kinda feel like I did everything there is to do, so I don't think I'll be coming back till they add more story based content. I know they added some new stronghold or something recently, but I want more like story based missions and cool cutscenes rather than gear grinding.
