I would like to call for some help about Necrons.

I have no idea how they play, but I would like to get some games at my LFGS. I wanna play mostly the units I find cool.

I want to avoid big center piece models, and named characters. What are must-haves and good units outside of those?

Personal non-center piece favorites are: Lokust Destroyers, Heavy Lokust Destroyers, Hex Marks, Immortals, Deathmarks, Doom Stalkers, & Doom Scythes.
I have a friend who loves Annihilation Barges. Another friend is all about Skorpek Destroyers & Skorpek Lords.

Alot of current Necron players really like big units of Wraiths with attached Technomancers atm.

Another thing to consider are the various detachment rules. All the detachments will work with whatever models you pick, but each one will work better with certain types/mixes of models.
