Do you play 40k? A lot of the things I hear from you seem like something a person with little actual experience in the game would say.

Uh, yes...thanks for the insult, but at my FLGS there is one guy who plays daemons, and I've never played him.

they can't assault the turn they arrive, right? so my basilisks blow one up (firing at one), the lictor kills one, and the has to leg it 190", having S9 ordnance htting him every turn. basilisks win.

That's surely sort of cheating, someone buying one unit to destroy two? And also you never mentioned it in your post....
If seperate units are allowed to be bought to beat one unit, I could quite easily come up with some ridiculous unbeatable combo, say, a Salamander Assault Vehicle spotting for a Bombard strike with two CCS with 4x plasma each escorting it and an inquisitor lord with 3x mystics next to them.
All for just under 330pts.

You won't be able to shoot them both at one because they will be one inch behind and iirc basilisks have a minimum range. What are the odds of a basilisk hitting indirectly? Also lictors have a str 6 shooting attack so on average one basisk will be damaged in some way.
You can only post multiples of the same unit. Says so in this first post.
