I have no preference yet, I like the power and defense of the LRC, but fairly short range, almost seems like to many guns for tanks, and not enough for infantry. I liked the performance of my razorback in a few games, twin linked lascannon way back, popped 2 tanks itself before going boom, and it's resulting crater gave the rider a 3+ cover save which saved the game from going to a draw, went to ground. Drop pods not bad, but 50 points that can't do naything unless it survives first turn... not so impressed, and rhinos, damn near metal coffins. Watcha think?

Orks =44/2/9/2 15k+ pts (assembled/broken)
Black Templar= 4/1/2/1 3k 2k pts (assembled)

Except Black Templar drop pods can fire on the turn they arrive...

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

Definately take LRC, its what the BT are all about.
The whole point is to get up on your opponent so it will be firing at close range anyway.Plus it allows you to take a larger squad or even termies.
The only reason i see not to take it is if its low points match or your going to be taking other heavy support choices.
Also once its delivered the troops it has enough fire power to earn back its points, if you take a rhino its unlikely to do anything after dropping off its troops and is much easier to take down, increasing the chance you will have to footslog the rest of the way.

A razorback will earn its points back easily if it survives but cant carry the amount of troops as a rhino or LRC.
In the end it depends on how your going to play them and i dont claim to be an expert but if your forming a gunline a razorback may be the way to go due to its long range weapon capabilities but if your bull rushing up to the enemy then i cant see anything vetter than a LRC.

I havent played that many games but i would say that the whole point of taking transports is to close with the enemy and gain the advantage of assaulting them, and drop pods are just going to leave you vulnerable to fire and being assaulted because you cant move or assault after deepstriking.
