How are people getting their Manticore rockets to stay on their racks without gluing them? I'd really rather be able to take them off as a way to visibly count ammo, but I can't find a way to get some magnets in there.

You could always have a small pin on the missile that you don't glue into the rack, if there's no room for a magnet, but there are some very tiny magnets around so I'd be surprised if there was no way of doing it with those...

The problem is that the missiles are hollow, and have extremely narrow connection points. I've got some tiny magnets that will fit on the rack, but they're probably not powerful enough and there's no place for another magnet inside the missile.

With some of the magnetising I've done in the past I've filled a section of the hollow part with miliput which can easily be drilled out once it's hard. Could you put some into the interior of the missile itself and do it that way?

If the missile's hollow, that makes it easier in my mind; Natorum's suggestion is basically the same as what I'd do, except I'd probably just glue a bit of plasticard to hold the magnets in instead I have several different sizes of magnet so I can have a really strong one in larger parts if I can't fit a "normal" sized one into the other part it'll be joined to, personally I'd use the largest, strongest one I could fit inside the missile and just make sure there was another on the rack.

For hollow stuff, using plasticard tubing stuffed with magnets is how I do it. I am about to put together my new Manticore kit, so I will be doing this and if I find a good way, I will post it.

So, I just finally got it together. Needless to say, I am going to need a few days to fiddle with the racks. Basically, I am thinking very, very small magnets in the slots and in place of the piece that fits into the rocket slots. One in each part with green stuff filler filed up nicely. Going to put them 2-3 deep into the rocket and just one on the rack. If it works, I will post some pictures.

I haven't bought the model yet, but i am planning to get one and magnetize it.
How about straightening a paperclip along the underside of the missile and only magnetize the rack? or is the rack a problem too?

fill the missiles with green stuff
I used this, but I already had it ordered when GW's kit came out

Pinning can work, but I think it would look off. I like Magnets and I think as long as you use a 2mm or smaller diameter, it will work like a charm. Just need to find some!

Actually, what I used was a flat rectangular magnet in the rack itself, with a small round magnet in the missile. Even though the magnets don't contact each other, there is enough attraction that the missiles are held seculerly on their mounting tabs. I can send a couple of pics if you want.

I used square steel wire inside the rack and then a short stack of pretty strong magnets inside the missle, no modifications required.
they don't stick very well though, enough to hold themselves on and if you are careful when moving the model.

If you could upload them to the Dakka gallery that'd be great.

No problem! I just posted the pics in my gallery. Here is the one that most clearly shows my magnetizing arrangement:
