Two independant characters can't join to form a single duo unit... can they?

I am over 90% sure on this, though I cannot find the page, a page would help.

Thanks in advance.

They can't. It is in the Character section under joining units.

Yes they can. Read the last sentace of the first paragraph on page 48 of the BGB.

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?

Ok, i've known where the page is, I meant the passage. My bad.

Really? I could have sworn that couldn't be done, Yriel and Big E, the super duo! ...

Fun fact of the day-

Gwar!'s first post was in the YMDC section, he has been chained under the bridge ever since then...

Yep, I run Eldrad + Yriel + 10 warlocks in a Serpent. Turn 2 (after turbo-boosting and star engines), use Eldrad's powers as I see fit and disembark just Yriel and the locks and then go to town. Works great

Or Shrike and a Chaplain and Van Vets infiltrated. Especially since the INAT FAQ just reversed the ruling on Shrike/Snikrot (and we use that around here. I don't like ambiguous rulings without a little something to back it up.)

Obviously two independent characters can join a squad you guys...

Though can two models (IC's) form one squad, otherwise it wouldn't be a duo!

Can't find the passage...

The restriction is on joining units that always consist of a single model.

As IC's can join other units, they are not always a unit consisting of a single model.

its says it on pg 48
"Independant Characters are allowed to join other units. They cannon, however, join vehicle squadrons (see vehicles section) and units that always consist of a single model (like most vehicles and monsterous creatures). They can join other independant characters though, to form a powerful multi-character unit!"

I didn't know it that meant two characters, I thought it implied they could both join one unit.

Correct. My First post on dakka was to ask about Paintedfigs.com, that Sri Lankan Painting Company.

Then I fell into YMDC and can't get out!

Do you have an RSS Reader that scans this forum for the phrase "INAT"? You only ever seem to post in here to express your distaste in that FAQ.

Yes. It runs on the hopes and dreams of young children

Nah, I post in here a good amount on RAP. RAW, I mostly leave to those who love reading into that stuff at such depth. At the same time MasterSlowPoke, how many times do you see the answer "Just use INAT" given on these forums? I'm just trying to be the counterbalance.

HEHE so you could have a Terminator Librarians team-up, both as Epistolaries!
One casts purely defensive abilites each turn (Force Dome, Gate of Infinity) while the other casts The Avenger and Quickening.

Hmmm wonder what the points cost is:

Batman and Robinus

x 2 Terminator Armour
Epistolary x 2
x 2 Storm Shields

330

330 points for a nigh invulnerable super unit!

why would you cast Force Dome when you have a Storm Shield? unless you are banging around with some LC terminators.
