Forgive me if I've done something wrong, I'm new to this gubinz...

Here is my 1500 pt list, made with the guiding hands of some more... experienced players , as this (apart from a feeble attempt at a nid army about 2 years ago where I bought in bulk from... *cringe* ebay without a list or any idea for an army and the worst paint job ever, including snot green gs, liche purple warriors and some interestingly pimped, gold termagants) is my first army, I all ready have the boyz, the trukk and three bikers, (no two guesses as to who has been buying the battleforce box ), and three of my Kanz. I thought before I go out and buy all the rest of it I need, ready for a tournament with said experienced friends in the summer, I would get some ideas from everyone here at dakka dakka and their never ending wisdom.

Anywayz enough about me here's my list:

HQ

Wazdakka Gutsmek - 180s pt.

TROOPS

Boy squad 1 - 20 boyz - 120 pts.

Boy sqaud 2 - 12 boyz - 72 pts.

Trukk - red paint job, armour plates, boarding planks - 55 pts.

bike squad - 5 warbikerz - 125 pts.

FAST ATTACK

Deaf kopta squad 1 - 3 deaf koptas - 3 buzzsaws - 180 pts.

Deaf kopta squad 2 - 3 deaf koptas - 3 buzzsaws - 180 pts.

Deaf kopta squad 3 - 3 deaf koptas - 3 buzzsaws - 180 pts.

HEAVY SUPPORT

Killa kanz squad 1 - 3 Killa kanz - 3 grotzookas - 135 pts.

Killa kanz squad 2 - 3 Killa kanz - 3 grotzookas - 135 pts.

Killa kanz squad 3 - 3 Killa kanz - 3 grotzookas - 135 pts.

Total - 1497

so, waddaya think?

For this list, you have to pick one of two tactics: Kult of Speed or Kan Wall. Mixing these two tactics involves splitting your force and that is one of the easiest ways to lose for an Ork player.

Before I go more in depth with some concrete list advice, which tactic sounds more fun to you?

Kan wall sounds pretty interesting as in the few games I have played with I (mostly using paintpots ), I based my tactics around using the kans and deaf koptas, but then again koptas would fit into the speed freak category being fast attack and all.... kan wall, definitely kan wall

OK, great. I know Kan Wall's very well .

Drop Wazdakka and get 1-2 KFF Big Meks.

3x30 Shoota Boyz for your troops. Make sure you have a Nob with PK and bosspole in each mob.

Deffkoptas work very well in a Kan Wall if you run three mobs of one each with TL Rokkits and Buzzsaws.

For Heavy Support, obviously Kans! 3x3 of them with all Kans in a mob carrying the same guns.

Grotzookas vs. Rokkits? I love both and you really need to play around with them to figure which works best for you. Just be sure not to waste BS3 on Skorchas or Big Shootas.

What ever points you have left can be spent on Gretchin to hold objectives (19 w/ Runtherd) or Lootas for fire support or whatever other toys you want to throw in.

Most of all, have fun with your WAAAGH!

I have to disagree with Claypool abotu the Big Shootas on the Kans. If you have lots of rokkits elsewhere in your army (t/l rokkit buggies, deffkoptas) then you can save a lot of points and take big shootas.

Big shoots are good because:

1)Range - 36 inches. Reach out and touch someone
2)Rate of Fire - 3 Shots a turn, with 3 kans with BS you have 9 shots and will have 4-5 hits.
3)Strength - 5 Yes I know Str 5 is not great but its enough to wound most things on a 3+ and Pen speeders, raiders, and trukks.
4)Cost - They are the cheapest upgrades for the kans. If you don't think the above poitns are good enough to use them for shooting - RUN! Get to grips with you opponents sooner by running in the shooting phase.

I use 3 squads of 3 Kans. One with Big shootas, One with Grot-Zookas, and one with Rokkits. They are this way because thatis the weapons available in the box set (minus the skorcha whick I would never put on a kan.) When I get more weapons, I will magnetize them so I can swap them - I recommend that you do so also.

Big shootas can work on Kans but if you're not taking Rokkits, Grotzookas are the second best choice.

You don't want to run with your Kans as you risk out pacing your boyz.

In short, Big Shootas CAN work but Grotzookas and Rokkits DO work.

I'm sorry that I did not state that if the kans run, the 2-3 squads of boys behind will run also. This is the only time I advocate sluggas as ground pounders.

I'd never advocate sluggas as ground pounders. Kan Walls should always advance 6" and shoot, and shoota boyz are perfect for this.

As of now, you have 37 scoring orks. That statement alone should tell you where your problem lies. Wazdakka is fun and all but you need more scoring models.

Dude what are you trying to achieve? either go kan wall, mechanized, or foot sloggin'. DO NOT MIX IT DOESN'T WORK! Sorry if I sounded rude but you need to be effective and the way your list is right now it isn't. Also IF you are doing a kan wall do like 6 Rokkitz and 3 Zookaz.


Professionals are predictable, it's the amateurs that are dangerous.
Anything you do can get you shot. Including doing nothing.
