We've recently had several people at the FLGS starting Necron armies, and there's been a bunch of threads from people starting or wanting to start Necrons on the boards the past month. At least it seems like there are more than there usually has been.

Would be good to see them and Dark Eldar both get new codex's and spruce up/variation of their model range. In the GW's I've played in necrons tend to have always had a good following.

I think it's because of all of my necron battle reports in the battle report section .

Actually more seriously I wonder if it has anything to do with that brief blurt of rumor that came out a month or two ago. Talking about immortals on termie sized bases, the giant undead monstrous creature, vehicle thing, etc. That might have gotten people thinking about the necrons sitting in their closets.

I got into Necrons recently when I started to play again. They are not nearly as bad as people make them out to be. I wanted to play something different, and the whole new codex thing also aided in me being interested.

I think so, I've had to try and dissuade more people than usual from using them.

People got tired of winning or having more than one useful choice per force org slot, so Necrons upticked in popularity.

I guess that this is a wish list, too good to be true.

It's probably attributed partially to the new book rumour.

Two other factors play into their new popularity bubble though. First, as folks have mentioned, there have been some pretty good number of Necron related posts on the various 40K boards lately. I know I've certainly read through more in the past couple of months than I remember seeing previously. Second, people are still dumping Necron armies on eBay and the trading forums. I've been tempted to start Necrons a few times based simply on the fact that in many cases, I can pick up a complete, painted army for under $200. I like to paint my own stuff generally, but to get a full army that cheap, well, I've considered making an exception.

I have notice that players are picking them up as well, you can toss together a 1500 army for two battleforce kits.

They always were kinda popular IIRC. Sorta low B-list if you will (A-list being the most recent codices, B-list being eldar, orks, etc which are usually popular, C-list being the least popular armies, IE DE, DH, WH, DA).

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

New Codex syndrome, People want to jump on board the new codex in hopes it iwll be good but don't want to be called bandwagoners, see tyranids, BA & SW over the past few months they went up, then when the next rumors started they went down.

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states.
